Rural Dividend Fund Chair Miller mentioned that staff have been working to coordinate the attendance of David Borth, Executive Director, Rural Dividend Fund at an RDBN meeting to provide information in regard to the Rural Dividend Fund. A conference call is being coordinated in order to have information for the next intake for the Fund. An invitation will be sent to all Directors and municipal staff. Discussion took place regarding the challenges with applying for funding and the eligibility criteria for projects. In addition, an inventory can include other emissions-related information or calculations such as emission factors (the amount of the pollutant emitted per unit activity). The objective of the research in this dissertation was to develop an emissions inventory for the transportation sector in British Columbia (BC) that could be used to answer various policy-related questions about BC's present-day and future transportation emissions. There are two distinct types of transportation emissions inventories: top-down and bottom-up. Top-down inventories are based on large-scale, overarching ('top level') data, such as total fuel sales for a given jurisdiction, that are used to calculate emissions which are then allocated to the lower levels in some manner within the jurisdiction. Bottom-up inventories work in the opposite direction, so to speak. They start with small-scale, on-the- ground (' bottom level ' ) data, such as fuel sales at each sales outlet within a jurisdiction, that are used to calculate emissions which are then summed up in some manner for the jurisdiction.

The Coastal Invasive Plant Committee (CIPC) was formed in 2005 to service Vancouver Island and surrounding coastal communities. The committee consists of public and private sector groups, First Nations, industry, utilities, and conservation groups that share a common interest in promoting coordination and cooperation to manage invasive plants in the region. The CIPC area covers approximately 60,000 km 2 including Vancouver Island, mainland coast and Gulf Islands; and consists of eight regional districts, 34 municipalities, 15 Gulf Islands, and 57 First Nations.
