CASE STUDY MOON FESTIVAL EVENT In September 2010, the Institute worked with the Scotland China Association, the Edinburgh Chinese Students & Scholars Association, and the Edinburgh Chinese Association of Professionals to stage a highly successful ‘Moon Festival’ Party. Around 350 people attended the event in Pollock Halls, including members of the city’s Chinese community and many new students from China. They enjoyed displays of traditional Chinese dancing and music, including a children’s dance team from the Alba Cathay Chinese School. The guests also tried some Scottish country dancing, helped by a ceilidh band and piper for an authentic local feel. Profits from the event were donated to the Yushu earthquake appeal. 2 3 4
