Consultants take issues such as resident status, working, marriage, education and everyday life by phone or in person. Appointment is needed. Consultation is free and privacy is strictly protected. It provides information from the city hall in English, Chinese, Korean and easy Japanese. If you click “Download” section on the left of the homepage, you can read multilingual bulletins. ●●Multilingual Bulletins International Exchange Office, Tsukuba City Hall: Phone: 029-883-1111 The bulletins issued are seasonally (June, September, December and March) in eight languages (English, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese and Indonesian). They are available at the city hall, train stations and other places. Daily Life 3 Japanese Language Class There are two major Japanese language classes in Tsukuba City. One is provided by Tsukuba International Association and the other is by Keyaki no Kai. Both classes are six months per term, start in April and October and are open for adults. Check “Tsukuba City Garbage Disposal Calendar”, City’s Website and “Guide to Sorting and Putting Out Garbage” booklet for further information. Please dispose of garbage at the designated garbage collection site before 8:00 a.m. according to the schedule and the sorting rules. Reservation is required to dispose of oversized garbage (when one edge is longer than 50cm) and it is charged. According to Home Appliance Recycling Act, air conditioners, TV sets (including CRT, liquid crystal and plasma types of TVs), refrigerators/freezers, washing machines / dryers are not accepted by the city. The stores where you bought the appliance or you will buy a new one may collect them with charge.
