INTRODUCTION 1 | 2 At Honda, belief is everything. It's the belief that we have the power to change things. To make the ordinary, extraordinary. To question the status quo. To take a boundary and extend it. We’ve spent 50 years at the top of international motorsport. We wanted to celebrate. And decided to create our ultimate roadster. We handed some of the world’s finest engineering minds a blank sheet of paper. They applied all their experience, passion - and the power of dreams. And created a sports car worthy of its pedigree. It is a desire to take our passion for racing and create the ultimate in performance engineering. It’s our history that’s led us to look at things this way. From the Honda Sports 360 and 500, first built by our founder, Soichiro Honda. To the first ever all-aluminium sports car, the Honda NSX. The Honda S2000 has been a natural evolution. It isn’t a car built from the inside out or indeed the outside in. This is a car designed as a whole. Every component coming together as one. We don’t believe in limitations. Here’s the evidence. The Honda S2000. Look deeply. EXTERIOR DESIGN 7 | 8 ?Ever noticed how a second look tends to be more revealing It’s easy to overlook the finer details.

  • 2001 Honda S2000
2001 Honda S2000 S2000 Maybe it’s the engine start button. Or that big "9" staring back at you from the end of the tach. Something about the S2000 tells you this is no ordinary two-seater.This is all about race-bred performance and g-forces. And that’s why you’re here. Driving the S2000 is the exhilaration and technology extracted from Honda’s 50 years of racing experience. With 240 horsepower and a lofty 9000-rpm redline, it’s the first roadster to capture the soul of racing. A few seconds behind the wheel will explain it all. “...the S2000 seems destined to become a cult favorite among serious drivers.” Car and Driver “[Honda] pulled no punches when it came to creating a high-performance 2-seat convertible that does more than measure up with its European counterparts.“ Road & Track “[A] razor-sharp road scalpel…” Motor Trend “…the big S could stand for Supercar, able to leap German roadsters in a single bound.“ Los Angeles Times “In the four-wheel world, only a race car could tickle your essence so.” USA Today “Formula 1 wannabes can easily imagine that they're streakingdownthebackstraightatHockenheimwhen they wind the S2000 through its six gears.“ Car and Driver “The S2000 has the speed, reflexes, and open-top exhilaration of a purebred sports car.“ acclaimed Automobile Magazine Under the hood, a genie wants out of its bottle. You don’t have to believe in magic. But it may help. The 2.0 liter engine in the Honda S2000 produces 240 horsepower and 153 lb.-ft.

  • 2004 Inspiration Strikes Hard
2000 HondaS 2004 Inspiration strikes hard. The harder the better. The S2000 may have four wheels, but it has a one-track mind when it’s carving through curves. Autoweek magazine summed it up well when they referred to the edgy S2000 as “the ultimate fueled 4-wheeled motorcycle.”1 One close encounter with the S2000’s potential, and you may be left a bit breathless, wondering what inspired such a raw expres- sion of performance. But in creating it, Honda engineers didn’t really need to seek inspiration. Because in the world we live in, it keeps fınding us. It’s in the loud metallic wail of our racing engines, and in the intoxicating aromas of high-octane fuel and hot, sticky rubber pulling at asphalt. We listened. We tuned in. And for 2004, we built an S2000 even more forceful, responsive and refıned. More inspired than ever before. S2000 shown in Silverstone Metallic. r ush It’s not impolite to stare at something truly beautiful. Smooth contours balance sharp lines for a shape that’s a touch elegant, yet unapologetic about its hard-edged intentions. For 2004, a more aerodynamic nose features a larger front air intake and high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights. Look closely. Beauty is in the details, like the new center console and cool metallic-fınish interior trim. Now climb in,lookupatendless sky and forward to an endless road. Complete the picture. For 2004, the S2000’s sporty intentions are punctuated with larger 17-inch alloy wheels shod with low, wide P245/40 R17 rubber in back to get power to pavement, and with P215/45 R17 tires in front for directional control.

the power of dreams At Honda we never stand still. Since our first race we have always looked to compete and do better. To challenge others we must first challenge ourselves. This is the only way to achieve success. But for us, success isn’t about self-congratulation. It is the perfect opportunity to learn, to increase understanding and gain the knowledge necessary to further ourselves. Our founder, Soichiro Honda spoke these words after winning our first Formula 1 race and they will forever be the way we approach racing and the making of cars like the Honda S2000: “We will study why we won and aggressively apply those winning technologies to new cars.” CONTENTS 03/04 introduction 05/06 exterior design 07/12 interior design 13/18 performance & safety 19/24 options 25/34 environment 35/36 finance 37/38 aftersales 39/40 glossary 41/42 what’s next 43/44 colours 45/46 Model shown is 2.0i VTEC Roadster.
