Dr. Scott E. Koenigsaecker Sequim Community Church Nov 8, 2020 DEEP DIVINE THOUGHTS Philippians 4:4-9 INTRODUCTION:

A. When it comes to God working, there are the seen, the unseen and the could be seen. “Yes, dear friends, we are already God's children, but He has not yet shown us what we will be like when appears. But we do know that we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He really is." I :2

B. "Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." Philippians 4:8

I. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

A. Thinking shapes our life. "For as a person thinks in their heart, so they become." Proverbs 23:7

"Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts." Proverbs 4:23

B. Faithful thinking shapes what we see. "What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for [what we are thinking] is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see." Hebrews 11:1

"We set our eyes not on what we see but on what we cannot see. What we see will last only a short time, but what we cannot see will last forever." 2 Corinthians 4:18

• Great, faithful thinking leads to a great life! "May God enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see the hope that His calling holds for you." :18 (New )

"Where there is no vision, the people perish." Proverbs 29:18

C. God's dreams for us are bigger than our dreams for us. "God can do anything, you know––far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams...His Spirit works deeply...within us." Ephesians 3:20-21 (The Message)

D. God's Spirit and God's Word fuels our thoughts. "And I [] will ask the Father and He will give you another Advocate [helper] who will never leave you. He is the who leads you into all truth." John 14:16-17

"Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your law...Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will mediate on [think through] your wonderful miracles. " Psalm 119:27
