Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou is the 21st property in China and exemplifies the luxurious and attentive European service for which the Kempinski name is globally renowned. The property is a strikingly modern building, with 23 floors offering spectacular views of the Fuzhou skyline.

Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou is located in a top commercial complex, the Second East Ring Tahoe Plaza. The hotel directly connects to the city’s business centre, dining hub, leisure and entertainment area, and is one hour’s drive from Changle International Airport and fifteen minutes’ drive from . What’s more, you can also travel to the hotel from Changle International Airport by Airport Express MPV in about 50 minutes.

The hotel features 327 elegantly designed rooms and suites, with luxurious amenities to ensure you the ultimate comfort and relaxation. Nine innovative restaurants and bars combine European luxury traditions with Chinese culinary highlights. 1500 sq m pillarless Grand Ballroom and eight meeting rooms were equipped with the latest audiovisual equipment and lighting systems. The unique outdoor wedding garden is specially designed to give an unforgettable wedding to our guests. A state-of-the-art Kempinski Health Club and The Spa bring our guests on a journey of serenity catering to all levels of enthusiasts.

LOBBY ARTWORK – THE LANDSCAPE OF BLESSING

Our master piece in the lobby, painted with Fujian lacquer, introduced the most representative 24 attractions of Fuzhou in four elements – city, lake, river and mountain. The total size is over 100 sq m and the total value of the artwork reached 8 million.

LOBBY ARTWORK – SAILING

The artwork Sailing symbolized the extension of Fuzhou Spirit of Water. With a combination of 366 pieces of individual engraving, the entire artwork shows the team work and consistency.

GUEST ROOMS & SUITES

The hotel has 327 rooms and suites, most of which have panoramic views of the splendid Fuzhou skyline. The size starts from 40 sqm. The Deluxe Rooms are located from 5th to 16th floor while the Executive Floors are from 17th to 21st. The suites and rooms follow a contemporary European design, with the intention of merging European luxury with the rich culture of the hotel’s location, Fuzhou. The hotel interior designer Yangbangsheng & Associates’ Group used gold and yellow as the general colour palette guide for all room design.

MEETING FACILITIES

All the meeting rooms are designed with a modern, contemporary fell and are equipped with the latest audio/visual equipment and lighting systems. The ballroom and meeting rooms are named after the ancient streets of Fuzhou and combine the local culture with the Kempinski tradition of European luxury. With an area of 1,500 sq m (16,145.9 sq ft) and a height of 10 m, the pillarless Grand Ballroom features a 100 sq m (1,076.4 sq ft) high-definition fixed P4 LED screen and is dividable into three function rooms.

K Coffee

K Coffee is located on the first floor, where it offers an exciting array of colours and a welcoming atmosphere for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The buffet restaurant provides a large selection of international and local cuisine, including Chinese, Asian, Japanese and European fare. A delightful selection of à la carte dishes is available from the menu as well. Dishes from the show kitchens are displayed in small and appealing portions to guarantee the freshest and most authentic taste. Our guests can choose to sit inside or on the terrace and enjoy the view of the outdoor garden.

Taifu Restaurant

Taifu Restaurant inspires from the Fuzhou City Sprit. The mountains shape landscape interspersed among the private dining rooms which showed the blending of classic and modern design of the dining environment. 18 private rooms are named after the “Book of Odes” also the Courtyards of Tahoe real estate projects. The Chinese Executive Chef brings with him a talented team of chefs to prepare traditional Cantonese dishes and Fuzhou specialties.

Yunge Grill

Located on Floor 22 and 23, Yunge Grill features an outdoor balcony, which offers the best place to enjoy the beautiful skyline of the city. Yunge highlights include local seafood and Western dishes. The restaurant offers a modern setting in which to experience the best of European luxury service.

Kaibin Club

Sized at 242 sqm, Kaibin Club is locate on Floor 22 of the hotel and offers a private dining venue of 16 seats with a fantastic view of the city. It is a unique opportunity to sit in a completely private environment away from the daily routines. The dishes are provided by Taifu restaurants, and a small, open kitchen will enable our selected chefs to showcase their cooking for our distinguished guests.

San Xi Tang Tea House

Inspired by Emperor Qianlong’s book house, San Xi Tang Tea House highlights the traditional tea culture of Fujian. It provides our guests with a living experience of tea – from a tea collection and tasting to arts and crafts. Whether it is a business or social gathering, it will be a perfect spot to enjoy traditional Chinese tea ceremonies in a modern Chinese teahouse environment. A large variety of renowned teas and a selection of local snacks will bring our guests into the world of ancient times in a modern present. Four private dining rooms are named after tea culture, Shou Mountain Stone theme and lacquer art.

The Lounge is the perfect place to meet friends and business associates throughout the day. With connecting to the reception desk, guests can experience a traditional tea ceremony, and coffees specially prepared by the baristas. In addition, the hotel offers a creative menu of light snacks, cakes and traditional European and Asian afternoon teas.

Kempinski the Deli

With connecting to K Coffee, there are 6 separate dining areas as well as outdoor seats. Kempinski the Deli features custom-roasted coffee along with breakfast pastries, muffins and freshly baked breads and cookies in the morning. In the afternoon, we fill our ovens with cakes, tarts and more irresistible treats. Pick up a scrumptious cake in an elegant box, fitted with ribbon and ready to be presented. For those on the run, we present ready-made sandwiches, salads and hot comfort classics. Our sandwiches are made with our own house- baked breads and filled with classic combinations.

Paulaner Bräuhaus Situated in Fuzhou East Second Ring Tahoe Plaza, Paulaner Bräuhaus is an ideal place to experience authentic Bavarian delicacies and atmosphere. Paulaner is originally from Munich and has more than 300 years of history in Beer brewing. It is brewed according to the oldest food law in the world, “the Bavarian Purity Requirement of 1516”. The Beer is brewed by a certified German Brewmaster. Our guests can enjoy authentic Paulaner Beer along with hearty Bavarian Delicacies.

The Health Club provides a state-of-the- art training environment with a dedicated team to make the fitness and wellbeing experience truly special. Located on the fourth floor, the Kaibin Health Club sized over 2,800 sq m equipped with the only one SYNRGY 360XS Combo, 25 m heated indoor swimming pool, saunas, whirlpool bath, steam room, golf simulator, locanium and yoga room. The private coach is also available.

Kempinski The Spa

Kempinski The Spa – offering a journey inspired by the European cycle of seasons. Drawing on the elemental wisdom of nature, the treatments both invoke and restore the body’s natural equilibrium. From the moment guests enter the spa, their senses come alive to wonderful scents and tranquil sounds, a sensory awakening before their spa journey. ABOUT FUZHOU

Located in the lower reaches of the Min River, Fuzhou is the capital city of Fujian Province. It serves as the economical, political, cultural and transportational centre of the province. The city is also famous throughout China both for its quantity of hot springs and for their quality.

Fuzhou is both a historic and cultural city, with over 2,200 years of history. During the Ming dynasty, Zheng started his international voyage to the Indian Ocean from Fuzhou and expanded the foreign market. After the first Opium War, Fuzhou was appointed as the first of five trading ports and declared open to foreign trade.

Fuzhou is a liveable and surprising destination, with attractions including graceful mountains and rivers, unique gardens and historical sites. The most well-known attraction is called the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys. Located in the downtown area of Fuzhou, it is a district of streets featuring a cluster of ancient residential buildings and is the largest well-preserved historical heritage site in China, covering an area of 40 hectares. The lanes and alleys were constructed by wealthy people during the Ming and Qing dynasties, with hundreds of houses. Nowadays, 159 buildings remain well preserved by the government. This area has been home to many famous people, including military leaders, politicians, writers and poets. Thus it is also recognised as “an architectural museum of the Ming and Qing dynasties”.

Christian Wiendieck, General Manager

Mr Christian Wiendieck joins Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou on 7 August 2017 from his recent position at Kempinski Hotel Guiyang. His hospitality career now spans more than 20 years and makes him a true hotelier with passion for luxury. He has an extensive China experience having managed Kempinski Hotels in Dalian, Wuxi and Guiyang. Having started his career with Kempinski in 1997 when he worked as F&B Coordinator at the Kempinski Hotel Bristol. After that his career has taken him to numerous management positions within our company from Berlin, St. Moritz, Croatia, Italy and Ajman before he moved over to China. In 2009 he also enriched his academic skillset and holds a Kempinski MBA of the NEOMA Business School Reims. Mr Christian Wiendieck’s loyalty to Kempinski, strong F&B background as well as professional expertise will surely assist in continuing the success of Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou.

Janet Wen, Acting Executive Assistant Manager

Ms Janet Wen joined Kempinski Hotel Group in 2009 and has over fourteen years of work experience in the hospitality industry. Her journey with Kempinski started from Wuxi. During her three years in Wuxi, she successfully expanded her career from Director of Public Relations to Assistant Director of Sales and fully in charge of Sales & Marketing department from the end of March 2012. In June 2012 she transferred to Kempinski Hotel Chongqing and in charge of sales and marketing team for the hotel pre-opening project. She joined Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou in January 2016 and will start her new chapter in Fuzhou.

Casper Chiu, Director of food & beverage

Originally from Taiwan Province, Mr Casper Chiu has more than 13 years’ experience in food and beverage management. Before he started his journey in the hospitality industry, he served in the army as a fighter pilot. After that, he went to America to continue his study of interior design at the University of Kansas. He joined a Michelin restaurant after graduation and successfully opened and operated a Michelin restaurant and passed the inspection. After he returned to China, he started his career in different cities, such as Hangzhou, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hefei and Xiamen, accumulating experience while at the same time establishing his own concept of service and management. Before he joined Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou, he had worked at JW Marriot, Wyndham and Shangri- La. .

William Gong, Executive Chef

Executive Chef Mr William Gong, who comes from Guangdong province, has worked in the culinary industry for more than 20 years. Before joining Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou, he was with Shangri-La Group for ten years, as well as being assigned to sister hotels in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia for cross-training. During his assignment, he was also part of the task force for the opening of some properties. Valuable overseas learning experience allowed him to progress, and to get to know about the trends of world cuisine. He has carried out in-depth research on Cantonese cuisine and will create more seasonal dishes and local Fujian delicacies with high quality standards and the best dining experience for our guests.
