The Biggest Night in Latin Music® will take place Nov. 20 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will air live on the Univision Network from 8 – 11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central). The milestone 15th anniversary telecast will be celebrated with 20 stellar performances, including these unique Latin GRAMMY® pairings: Pepe Aguilar with Miguel Bosé; Pablo Alborán with Jesse & Joy; Marc Anthony with chart-topping band Magic!, and in a separate performance Anthony will share the stage with Carlos Vives; Rubén Blades with Carlos Franzetti; Camila with Ricky Martin; Carlos Santana with Pitbull; La Arrolladora Banda El Limón De René Camacho with Espinoza Paz; La Original Banda El Limón De Salvador Lizárraga with Río Roma; Carlos Vives with ChocQuibTown; Wisin with Chris Brown and Pitbull; Yandel with General Gadiel and Farruko as well as a Best New Artist nominees medley with Aneeka, Pablo López and Mariana Vega. Calle 13 garnered nine nominations: Record Of The Year for "Respira El Momento"; Album Of The Year and Best Urban Music Album for MultiViral; Song Of The Year for "Ojos Color De Sol" (Featuring Silvio Rodríguez); Best Urban Performance, Best Urban Song and Best Short Form Music Video for "Adentro"; Best Urban Song for "Cuando Los Pies Besan El Piso"; and Best Alternative Song for "El Aguante." Group member Eduardo Cabra is also up for Album Of The Year for Bailar En La Cueva (Jorge Drexler), and Producer Of The Year. ChocQuibTown are up for Record Of The Year for "El Mar De Sus Ojos" With Carlos Vives. Jorge Drexler has four nominations: Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for "Universos Paralelos" (Featuring Ana Tijoux), and Album Of The Year and Best Singer-Songwriter Album for Bailar En La Cueva. Farruko has two nominations: Best Urban Performance With J Balvin and Best Urban Song for "6AM."     FARRUKO Biography Carlos Efren Reyes Rosado, better known as Farruko, was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, on May 2, 1991. This singer-songwriter is considered by experts as a musical phenomenon of our times for his great musical versatility performance expertise. Farruko has consistently demonstrated his dominion over most sub-genres of urban music like Reggaeton, Rap, Hip Hop, R & B and now Trap Latino. He has also proved his adaptability, crossing over into pop, bachata, mambo and vallenato genres. Farruko has released several albums, delighting the fans production after production. In 2011, Farruko introduced us to his first solo album, “El Talento del Bloque,” which contains 13 songs written mostly by the artist himself and included collaborations with Jose Feliciano in “Su Hija Me Gusta” and Daddy Yankee in “Romper La Discoteca.” A year later, in 2012, the artist launches his second album, “TMPR *THE MOST POWERFUL ROOKIE,” which earned a nomination for Best Urban Album of the Year at the prestigious Latin Grammy 2012. In 2013, Farruko launched his third album “Imperio Nazza - Farruko Edition,” with which Farruko toured around major U.S. Hispanic markets throughout the year, earning more notoriety and helping his fans put a face to the voice that was already taking over the airwaves, websites and digital sales charts. Part of this album was his internationally popular hit song, “Besas Tan Bien,” which reached the Top 20 in Billboard’s Latin Rhythm chart and stayed there for more than 16 consecutive weeks, and 21 weeks in total. Throughout 2014, Farruko positioned himself firmly among the most successful artist of the genre.

    Laudatio del Profesor Doctor D. Emilio Casares Rodicio con motivo de la investidura como Doctor “Honoris Causa” del Excmo. Sr. Dr. D. Joan Manuel Serrat Excmo. Sr., Rector Magfco; Excmo. Sr. Presidente del Congreso; Excma. Sra. Presidenta de la Comunidad; Excmo. Sr. Ministro de Industria; Miembros del claustro universitario; Señoras y Señores: Por tercera vez en poco tiempo subo a esta tribuna, obedeciendo el mandato del Sr. Rector, de hacer la Laudatio de un músico español nominado para recibir el honroso título de Doctor honoris causa por esta Universidad, ilustre por tantos conceptos. Parece necesario que comience confesando a este claustro, que no son mis méritos personales los que llevan a esta situación, sino la escasez de esta especie, espero que no en extinción, que formamos los musicólogos en la Universidad española y por ello en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Este acto adquiere para mí una elevada significación cultural: la imposición de la máxima distinción académica a un representante de la “otra creación musical” conocida en Hispanoamérica con ese bello nombre de “Música popular urbana”, dos conceptos “popular” y “urbana”, que en música adquieren un especial significado. Con este doctorado se completan los ámbitos en los que la se expresa la música, y se reconoce a un artista íntimamente ligado a nuestra reciente historia; un artista que ha marcado nuestra vida musical diaria. Esta universidad ha hecho “doctor honoris causa” a los maestros Joaquín Rodrigo, Carmelo Bernaola, Luis de Pablo, Cristóbal Halffter, Antón García Abril, Teresa Berganza, Plácido Domingo y Tomás Marco, a quienes cito “propter ordinem senectutem”, todos representantes insignes de la moderna creación e interpretación musical, y ahora propone a un representante de la “otra música”.
