Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a to support The Arthritis Foundation. Come in to the Chipotle at 140 Glastonbury Blvd Suite 4 in Glastonbury on Tuesday, April 23rd between 4:00pm and 8:00pm. Bring in this flyer, show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 33% of the proceeds will be donated to The Arthritis Foundation.

Online orders will not be included in the fundraiser total. To ensure your purchase is counted in the fundraiser, be sure to order and pay in-restaurant. Gift card purchases during fundraisers do not count towards total donated sales, but purchases made with an existing gift card will count. Fundraising Ideas

1. Pig Roast or BBQ Party – This is a sure-fire way to fund raise. Charge $10 per person,

2. Cornhole Tournament- Host your own cornhole (or badmitton, ladder ball or any other yard game tournament). Charge for entry per person, or by team.

3. Corporate Matching Gift – Ask your company (or a friend’s company) to match the amount of pledges you receive from your fellow co-workers.

4. Post to social media

5. Corporate Sponsorship – Do you know one or several large companies who may be interested in sponsorship (starting at $250)? Email [email protected] for more information!

6. , Ebay or Poshmark - Know all that stuff that’s been hanging out in your garage…in your attic…in your basement? Put it in your front yard or online and sell it!

7. Bake Sale– Become Julia Child (and ask your friends to do the same) and host a bake sale. You can even have it in conjunction with your garage sale. It’s a fact that people will buy more stuff on an empty stomach! Or, if you make infamous brownies or lasagna, take orders!

8. Chili Cookoff- People pride themselves on fantastic chili recipes. Challenge your neighbors to a cookoff to find out who has the best chili in town.

9. Hot Coco, Lemonade or Popsicle Sale- Does your community host a holiday festival, winter farmer’s market, or another event that brings people together? If so, warm up some tummies tummies by selling hot cocoa. For a popsicle sale, be creative with your flavors (You can freeze anything liquid in a popsicle mold!) Margarita pops sprinkled with salt? Mm.

10. Sell concessions at a local baseball game or town sporting event.

11. Craft Sale- Do you have a hidden talent for knitting? Making bath bombs? Embroidery? See your goods at local events, on Etsy or via social media!

12. Extra Change In My Pocket Box - Keep a jar near your door and every day put all your extra coins in it. It adds up. Or put it on your desk at work – others will join you.

13. Send a letter or e-mail asking for support to EVERYONE you know. Personalize it with a handwritten note or picture!

14. T-shirts or Tutu Sale– Create team t-shirts or tutus for the Walk and sell them.

15. Host a golf tournament

16. Car Wash- it’s a fundraising classic

17. Ask local companies to sponsor your fundraiser or t-shirt. You can print their logo on your signage or back of your shirt!

18. Office Fundraising Challenge – Speak with everyone in your office and get them to challenge each other to raise the highest amount. Give the "winner" a prize. Maybe donated movie passes or gift certificate to dinner!

19. Answering Machine Message – This will alert everyone who calls you at home that you’re up to something special! Let them know that you need their support!

20. Flock-a-Friend – Announce your upcoming Flamingo Fundraiser and, for a fee, get pre-orders from supporters to have their friends “flamingoed”. In the dead of the night, place the flamingos in their yards! For more information, visit www.flamingofundraising.com. This can also be done with a toilet bowl to “flush away arthritis!”

21. Return Address Labels & Email Signatures– Print return address labels for your outgoing mail. Print something like, "I’m walking in against Arthritis - Will you please donate to this wonderful cause?"

22. Ask a local business to place a jar at the front of the restaurant/store – Check with the manager. They may be willing to place the jar in a high traffic area so lots of patrons can see it. Be sure to personalize it with a picture!

23. Doggie Kissing Booth- Bring your dog to a local fair or before the school or work day starts in a DIY kissing booth stand. Ask participants to donate for a kiss.

24. Fundraising dinner at your local favorite restaurant – Ask your favorite local restaurant to host a Fundraising Dinner for you. They supply the food and your supply the pledge forms!

25. Viewing Party – Turn on the season of the Bachelor or the Eagles game, make some popcorn, pick up some soda or wine and invite your friends and family over for viewing party for a $10 admission.

26. Birthday gift pledge – This is a very simple way to raise money and it’ll be a lot easier for your friends and family to write you a check instead of spending hours trying to shop for you!

27. Doctor/Therapist/Veterinarian/Insurance Agent/Dentist/Chiropractor – Ask him/her to make a check out for you instead of the other way around!

28. Radio Station – Call your favorite radio station and ask them to make an announcement on the air. They may even interview you!

29. Spinning or Gym Class – Have a stack of brochures with you and ask your spinning instructor to make an announcement in class.

30. Hair Salon – Ask your barber or hairdresser to donate $2.00 of every haircut they complete over one weekend.

31. Picnic (en blanc) – National Holiday Picnics are a great place to raise some money! For an elegant feel, ask everybody to wear white.

32. Food fight (en blanc) — Who among us has never wanted to partake in a food fight? Serve spaghetti and meatballs; watch mayhem unfold. Make sure there’s a hose on premises.

33. Mow-a-thon – Get your kids involved in this weekend activity. Check ahead of time with all your neighbors and ask them if you can mow their lawn for $20.00.

34. Neighbor – Write to all your neighbors on your block (or in your building). Attach a letter stating what you're walking for and ask them to make a donation.

35. Newsletter – Does your company distribute a newsletter? Does your company have interoffice e-mail? Take advantage of these! It’s a perfect way to get the word out.

36. Baby, pet or house sit – Offer up your services and let your friends have a nice, quiet of the house!

37. Karaoke Night – Who cares if you can’t carry a tune. Spend a Friday night at a Karaoke Bar and sing your guts out! Have the announcer tell the crowd that you’re singing for donations!

38. Talented Friends – Do you have a little piano bar in your neighborhood and a talented piano playing friend? Ask the owner to let you bring some friends in one night for a cocktail and piano night. Charge anyone who attends and let them know that it’s a fundraising event for the Arthritis Walk.

39. Facebook "Likes" Donations: Ask as local business if you can help them increase their Facebook following. In exchange for bringing more "likes" to their page, you receive a donation to your charity in return.

40. Pet Birthday Party – I know this may sound a little dorky, BUT people love their pets. And they love other pets…even yours. Get the word out that if they were thinking about buying "Sparky" if a new toy maybe they should think about writing a check out to the Arthritis Foundation instead!

41. Host a poker game – call your serious (or not so serious) card-playin’ friends invite them over for poker night.

42. Board game – If you’re not a board game person, ask volunteers to bring in their favorite board game. Whether it’s Monopoly, Battleship, or Checkers, people will have a blast reminiscing over their old favorites! Have people play against one another throughout the night so the overall board game champion may be determined to receive a prize. Require a small fee to register for the game night and watch the sign ups soar!

43. Board games not your style? Do the same as above but with video games!

44. – Contact your local bar for a happy hour. Some will donate the cover charge, others will donate a portion of the proceeds

45. Yappy Hour – like the happy hour, but better, because you can BYO pup.

46. Bowling Nights – plan a fun night of bowling at your local lanes. Ask the owner to waive the cost of bowling and you can collect that money and turn it into pledges.

47. Used book sale. Ask for book donations and a local business, school or org to host the sale.

48. Wine and paint night

49. Curse Jar – C’mon, everyone does it. Now they’ll have to pay for it. Place a Curse Jar in your office and whenever someone says a bad word they have to open up their wallet, grab a dollar and put it in the jar.

50. Dress Down or Pajama Day – Ask your company to allow an official Arthritis Walk Dress Down Day. For the privilege of dressing down, employees donate $5.00 toward the walk.

51. Company Grants – Find out if your company offers grants to employees who volunteer their time for charitable causes. If so, you can volunteer your time at the Arthritis Foundation’s office and get paid grant money (donations!) for the work.

52. Church– place an advertisement in your Church bulletin or hand out flyers letting the congregation know what you’re up to!

53. Is there a teacher in the house? – Get your students to help you fundraise. Kids are incredibly creative and cute, too! Utilize collection jars to pie the (willing) losing teacher in the face, start penny wars or sell concessions!

54. Other Parents – If your kids play on soccer leagues or any other sports teams distribute brochures to the other parents at the event.

55. Share the Walk – Tell your story. The more you talk about your upcoming adventure, the more people will share in that excitement and want to donate to you.

56. Alumni Organizations – Call your own college or university and ask them to place an ad in the alumni newsletter asking for donations.

57. Ask for the right amount – Take a good look at who you’re asking for donations and make sure you ask for the right amount. Don’t ask for $100.00 if you know they can pledge $1000.00.

58. Beneficiaries – Get to know them well. You’ll be asked where the money is going and it will be very impressive to a potential donor if you’re able to speak eloquently about it.

59. Make your own contribution - Lead the way by making your donation first.

60. Pizza Party – Check out your local Pizzeria Uno – they have a great deal to help you fundraise

61. Rolling sushi- have your own make your own sushi night! You supply the sushi, you supply the materials

62. Pie in the Face / Dunk Tank – Find a willing* boss, teacher or principal. Set a goal for him/her to get a pie to the face or charge $5.00 for 3 chances to dunk them!

63. Clubs and organizations – Send a solicitation letter to your local Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, Rotary Club, Kiwanis, etc. They support individuals in their communities

64. night — Host a trivia night at a local bar and have participants pay to play. For extra credit, the bar can donate a portion of proceeds of drinks and food sold.

65. Pumpkin Carving Party- Host a pumpkin carving party for family and friends! Charge $20.00 for food and supplies, then carve the night away!

66. Raffle - Everyone that contributes is entered into a raffle to win a special item such as a homemade quilt or Red Sox tickets.

67. Contact your local paper and get an article. Make sure that you put in information about how people can contribute. And have a photo ready to go!

68. Don’t get discouraged!

69. Start now! – The earlier you begin fundraising the better off you’ll be. You’ll be able to go way beyond what you ever could expect.
