London, UK (7 March 2018) – Today WE Day, the largest youth empowerment event of its kind, brings together renowned speakers, dynamic performers and innovative thought leaders for a day of inspiration, including HRH Princess Beatrice of York, HRH Princess Eugenie of York, The Vamps’ Connor Ball and Tristan Evans, Holly Branson, Alexandra Burke, Lily Collins, Connor Franta, HRVY, Kenyan Boys Choir, Lina, Tokio Myers, Katie Piper, Sarah Ikumu, Shakii, Tallia Storm, Margaret Trudeau, Spencer West, and more, led by co-hosts Sophia Grace and Rosie McClelland, Becca Dudley, Yasmin Evans and Laura Whitmore. Together, with international activists and WE co-founders Craig and Marc Kielburger, the line-up will join 12,000 students and teachers at The SSE Arena, Wembley, to celebrate the actions they have taken to create positive impact around the world.

“I’m so honoured to be back at WE Day, especially on the eve of International Women’s Day,” said HRH Princess Beatrice of York. “I have been extremely lucky to learn from wonderful and powerful women all my life, and I hope I can inspire the young people at WE Day UK to continue stepping up and supporting each other in their endeavors to create change.”

“Seeing young people that care about truly making lasting differences in this world is remarkable,” said HRH Princess Eugenie of York. “This is my very first WE Day UK, and I can’t wait to be in a room with so many young change-makers who know that an act of good, no matter how small, is worth doing.”

Together with partners led by Title Supporter Virgin Atlantic, WE Day UK will host over 500 schools from across the UK. More than a one-day event, WE Day is connected to the free, year-long educational programme, WE Schools. Providing schools and community groups with curriculum, educational resources and action campaigns, the programme is designed to enhance a school’s existing social initiatives or spark new ones. WE Schools encourages students to further their curricular learning and develop life skills for success beyond the classroom.

Speakers and performers at WE Day UK will energise the crowd through a day full of powerful speeches, inspirational moments and empowering performances. A few must-see highlights include:

 Golden Globe nominated actress and author, Lily Collins, speaks to the importance of speaking up and being supportive of one another

 WE Day co-hosts, Becca Dudley, Yasmin Evans, Sophia Grace, Rosie McClelland, and Laura Whitmore, celebrate the eve of International Women’s Day with a special on-stage moment and performance

 Best-selling international author, inspirational speaker, TV presenter and charity campaigner, Katie Piper, speaks to the WE Day audience about the importance of self-love and shares her personal experience with violence against women

 Singer, songwriter, 2008 winner of The X Factor, and a three-time chart-topper on the singles chart, Alexandra Burke, lights up the WE Day stage with performances of her hit songs “Shadow” and “Bad Boys”

In the 2016/2017 school year, schools and groups across the UK helped strengthen their communities through WE Schools, volunteering more than 533,000 hours and raising nearly £1.8 million in support of local and global causes including hunger, poverty, environment and .

“Today we celebrate young people engaged in the WE generation—young leaders from across the UK who have committed to creating change at home and around the world,” said Craig Kielburger, co- founder of WE. “Together these students and their incredible teachers have supported over 590 local and global organisations, impacting countless lives. WE Day UK celebrates their world-changing achievements while empowering young people to continue working together towards building positive change.”

WE Day—the world’s largest youth empowerment event—is free of charge to students and teachers across the UK, thanks to the generous support of partners led by UK Title Supporter Virgin Atlantic. Students can’t buy a ticket to WE Day—young people from across the UK earn their way by the actions they take on one local and one global cause of their choice.
