45 members European Pharmacopoeia: 40 years of service to European
Albania public health Andorra Armenia Strasbourg 09.06.2004 – The Council of Europe’s European Pharmacopoeia – the Austria European watchdog for consistent high quality in medicines – is celebrating 40 years of Azerbaijan working for public health. Belgium Bosnia and The Pharmacopoeia is today the main tool for harmonising medicine quality in Herzegovina 31 Council of Europe member States, as well as the European Union (*). The European Bulgaria Croatia Pharmacopoeia Commission also has as observers non-European countries such as Cyprus Australia, Canada, China, Malaysia, North African countries, Senegal and Syria, who are Czech Republic therefore able to contribute to the process of harmonisation. Denmark Estonia An official ceremony will take place in the hemicycle of the Palais de l’Europe between Finland 2.30 pm and 5.30 pm on Tuesday 15 June in the presence of Council of Europe France Deputy Secretary General Maud de Boer-Buquicchio and Irena Belohorska Georgia (representing the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly). There will be a general Germany presentation of the European Pharmacopoeia – its achievements, development and Greece Hungary future plans – followed by a public debate. Leading experts from institutions such as the Iceland European Pharmacopoeia Commission, the EU Commission, the European Agency for Ireland the Evaluation of Medical Products, the World Health Organisation and the European Italy Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations will take part in the debate, Latvia which will be moderated by Daniel Riot, European Editor of France 3. Liechtenstein Lithuania "Medicines, the key to European public health policies" is the theme of another debate to Luxembourg mark the 40th anniversary. Part of the “European Debates”, it will take place at Malta 6.30 pm on Monday 14 June at Munsterhof, in Strasbourg Moldova Netherlands (http://www.coe.int/T/e/Com/press/debates/) Norway Poland An exhibition “Find out about the European Pharmacopoeia and Medicines” will be held Portugal in the Strasbourg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Place Gutenberg).
