Por mi parte, debo decir que me encantó la propuesta del grupo del vocalista y guitarrista Matt Heafy, porque ella me retrotrae a la época dorada del thrash metal, estilo surgido en el decenio del 80 en la corrosiva y maravillosa ciudad de San Francisco, sitio de suma importancia para la historia del rock y del metal. Publicado por el sello Roadrunner Records, el CD contiene 11 piezas a través de las cuales apreciamos una muy llamativa mezcla entre elementos de Thrash Metal y componentes del metalcore, lo cual le confiere al fonograma una sonoridad bien moderna y en la que se consigue la unión entre llamativas líneas melódicas y el sentido oscuro característico de las tendencias extremas del metal. Según mi parecer, he ahí la clave de un material como The sin and the sentence, resultado también de los buenos oficios del productor Josh Wilbur. Para ese nuevo disco, la alineación de Trivium la conforman el ya aludido Matt Heafy como figura frontal de la agrupación, Corey Beaulieu en los trabajos vocales y como integrante de la mancuerna de guitarras el bajista Paolo Gregoletto y una nueva adquisición, Alex Bent en la batería.

Sicherlich, es ist möglich ANY GIVEN DAY aus Gelsenkirchen stilistisch den Sub-Genres New Age Metal, Metalcore und Deathcore zuzuordnen. Ebenso lässt sich behaupten, dass ihr Sound tiefgestimmte, energiegeladene, kompromisslose Härte mit packenden melodischen Parts und einer beeindruckenden gesanglichen Leistung vereint. Man kann es aber auch ähnlich bodenständig wie die Band halten und „es einfach bei Metal belassen.“ ANY GIVEN DAY vertonen den ganz normalen, alltäglichen Wahnsinn! Roh und ungeschönt! Straight in your face! Metal eben. “Home Is Where The Heart Is“ Seit einem guten Jahrzehnt kennen sich die fünf Musiker aus dem Herzen des Ruhrgebiets bereits und konnten in verschiedenen Combos der Metal- und Hardcoreszene Erfahrungen sammeln (EXTINCTION PROJECT, BUTTERFLY COMA, THE MERCURY ARC, HORUS PREVAILS, MY SECRET PLAN). L’idea prese il via, e si affiancarono a loro le band di Gallicano, Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Pieve Fosciana, Piazza al Serchio e molti altri gruppi della Mediavalle del Serchio. L’appuntamento era una volta l’anno agli Impianti Sportivi di Gallicano, nel famigerato “PALLONE”, da cui deriva il nome della festa (Rock ‘n Roll = Rock ‘n Ball). Nel 2006 ci fu l’ultima edizione, scelta dettata anche dal fatto che i due “capostipiti” si erano trasferiti. Non riuscendo ad organizzare la manifestazione a distanza, essa rimase solo un ricordo, BELLISSIMO, ma solo un ricordo. Nel 2011, viene istituita una vera e propria associazione chiamata “ROCK ‘N BALL GALLICANO”, rinominata poi semplicemente “ASSOCIAZIONE ROCK ‘N BALL”.
