September ihr Debütalbum „My Longest Way Home“ auf dem deutschen Label Redfield Records veröffentlichen. Vom 11. bis zum 14. September stellt die Band das Album im Rahmen einer exklusiven Releasetour in Berlin, München, Stuttgart und Bochum vor. Support gibt es von ihren neuen Labelkollegen Me In A Million. Im Frühjahr 2012 formierten sich die fünf Musiker aus dem Herzen des Ruhrgebiets zur Metalband Any Given Day. Zuvor konnten die Mitglieder bereits Erfahrungen in diversen Bands sammeln. Im Dezember letzten Jahres veröffentlichte die Band ihre erste Single „Home Is Where the Heart Is“. Die Single landete auf dem 1. Platz der deutschen iTunes Metal-Charts sowie auf Platz 1 der deutschen Amazon Hard Rock & Metal-Charts. Die Single stammt von ihrem Debütalbum „My Longest Way Home“, das am 5. September über Redfield Records veröffentlicht wird. Das Album wurde in den Pitchback Studios gemeinsam mit Top-Produzent Aljoscha Sieg aufgenommen. Auf „My Longest Way Home“ entwickeln Any Given Day mit der Mischung aus treibenden Metal-Riffs, melodischem Hardcore sowie atmosphärischen Djent-Parts ihre sehr eigene und direkte Sprache. Sänger Dennis Diehl kombiniert kraftvolle Shouts und cleanen Gesang mit Ohrwurmcharakter. ANY GIVEN DAY Das Denken in Schubladen ist gängige Praxis, kann mitunter aber mühselig sein. Sicherlich, es ist möglich ANY GIVEN DAY aus Gelsenkirchen stilistisch den Sub-Genres New Age Metal, Metalcore und Deathcore zuzuordnen. Ebenso lässt sich behaupten, dass ihr Sound tiefgestimmte, energiegeladene, kompromisslose Härte mit packenden melodischen Parts und einer beeindruckenden gesanglichen Leistung vereint. Man kann es aber auch ähnlich bodenständig wie die Band halten und „es einfach bei Metal belassen.“ ANY GIVEN DAY vertonen den ganz normalen, alltäglichen Wahnsinn! Roh und ungeschönt! Straight in your face! Densely populated and highly industrialised, Germany is integrally tied to the global trade network. Its historically important industries – coal, iron, steel, textiles, petro-chemicals, machinery, paper and pulp – are all major devourers of natural resources and significant polluters of Central Europe’s air, land, and water. Without doubt the transformative moment came in the mid-nineteenth century, when the various German states began shifting from wood to coal as a fuel source to feed the new steam engines coming from Great Britain. The fossil- fuel economy impacted Germany more than the rest of continental Europe, largely because Europe’s most extensive coal reserves lay under Prussian- controlled soil, giving rise to an extraordinarily fast-paced industrial growth in regions such as the Rhineland, Westphalia, and Silesia.

THE HISTORY OF BOMBER COMMAND Foreword It is sometimes argued that the air offensive against Nazi Germany was so increasingly dominated by ever more sophisticated scientific electronic devices on both sides, that aircrews might well have become superfluous. But no amount of technical wizardry could ever displace the courage and determination shown by the men of Bomber Command - among whom were members of No. 153 (Bomber) Squadron - featured in this history. Following disbandment of the Squadron, a small element (called ‘Y’ Flight) was retained to complete service trials of new equipment. The seventy men so involved built up such a high degree of comradeship that they arranged to meet annually for dinner, calling themselves “The Doomie Club; among their appointed officials was the ‘Doomie Scribe’ - or John O’Devon. Initially, the reunion was held in different locations (to share travel burdens) but by popular request it was agreed to assemble annually in the ‘Grand Hotel’ in Lincoln. Due to lengthy spells of duties overseas, ‘Doomie Scribe’ was seldom present and did nothing to justify his honorary title. Because 153 Squadron operated as a bomber squadron for less than 12 months few people knew of its existence, and its contribution to victory in Europe; let alone some of the remarkable achievements of its aircrew. To rectify this situation ‘Doomie Scribe’ decided to earn his title by writing a full account of the activities of the Squadron. This is it. Certain problems had first to be overcome. To be able to include personal anecdotes he sought to establish contact with as many ex-153 members as possible.
