Principal Photography Underway on 22 CHASER, Directed by Rafal Sokolowski FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Principal Photography Underway on 22 CHASER, Directed by Rafal Sokolowski The film stars Brian J. Smith, Raul Trujillo and Aaron Ashmore, and is produced by Don Carmody, Aeschylus Poulos and Daniel Bekerman Toronto, October 19, 2015 – The Canadian Film Centre (CFC) is pleased to announce that principal photography is underway on 22 CHASER, the high-octane drama about a desperate tow truck driver who risks everything to become king of the road … and piece together his broken family. This is the 22nd feature film to be developed and financed for production under CFC Features. Filming will take place from October 7 to November 4, 2015 in Toronto and Oshawa, Ontario. 22 CHASER, directed by Rafal Sokolowski (Three Mothers, Seventh Day, Lightchasers), is based on a screenplay by Jeremy Boxen (Killjoys, Lost Girl). The film stars Brian J. Smith (Sense8, Red Faction: Origins, SGU Stargate Universe), Raoul Trujilla (Sicario, Riddick, Cowboys and Aliens), Aaron Ashmore (Killjoys, Regression), Kaniehtiio Horn (What Would Sal Do, Hemlock Grove, Defiance), and John Kapelos (‘Carl the Janitor’ in The Breakfast Club). It is being produced by Don Carmody (Shadowhunters, Resident Evil franchise, Chicago), Daniel Bekerman (The Witch, Bang Bang Baby, Edwin Boyd) and Aeschylus Poulos (Sleeping Giant, Molly Maxwell, Picture Day); co-produced by Brendan Carmody (13 Eerie, Home Again); and executive produced by Justine Whyte (Cube, Nurse.Fighter.Boy, Rhymes for Young Ghouls). “22 CHASER is a story that so many individuals will empathize and identify with,” said Justine Whyte, Director & Executive Producer, CFC Features. “This production is a fantastic example of several talented key creatives coming together to make it possible – it couldn't happen otherwise. It’s a true testament to the unique world and exciting ride this script promises.” “We’re thrilled by the stellar cast we’ve been able to assemble for 22 CHASER,” added producers Aeschylus Poulos, Daniel Bekerman and Don Carmody. “An exciting mix of infectious, vibrant young talent and super experienced actors with major gravitas. The energy is electric.” In 22 CHASER, tow truck driving ain’t for wusses. Work’s barely paying the bills, Ben’s marriage is unravelling, a loan shark’s thug is going to snap his bones if he doesn’t come up with the money he owes, and he's promised his son a bicycle for his birthday. But it’s pedal to the metal when Ben makes the dangerous leap from towing illegally parked cars to chasing accidents. As he joins the ranks of the fast and the furious, Ben learns that the 1 price of success on the city streets might be his very soul. The film will feature cinematography by Cabot McNenly, production design by Adam William Wilson, costume design by Bonnie Sutherland, and editing by Kye Meechan. 22 CHASER is produced through the Canadian Film Centre’s CFC Features program. Development at CFC Features is supported by the Government of Ontario, and production support and financing is supported by The Movie Network, a division of Bell Media, and Corus Entertainment’s Movie Central. • Plural Subjectivity in Stargate SG-1
Language, Literature, and Interdisciplinary Studies (LLIDS) ISSN: 2547-0044 ellids.com/archives/2020/07/3.4-Ferebee.pdf CC Attribution-No Derivatives 4.0 International License www.ellids.com “Pain in Someone Else’s Body”: Plural Subjectivity in Stargate SG-1 K.M. Ferebee Abstract Lennard Davis, in his work on visualizing the disabled body, argues that at root the body is inherently and always already fragmented. The unified “whole body” is, therefore, hallucinatory in nature—an imaginary figure through which the body’s multiplicity is repressed. There is much in this view that is consonant with posthumanism, which so often seeks to destabilize the “whole” and singular one in favor of the multiple, the fragmentary, and the hybrid. Yet despite these considerations of the body as fragmentary, little attention has been paid to the value of considering the body not only as fragmentary, but also as potential fragment. What might we learn by rejecting anthropocentric assumptions about the body-mind’s inherent completeness, and exploring the radically plural ontologies offered by visions of shared, joint, or group body-minds? This paper turns to science fiction as a source of such visions, considering depictions of symbiotic and hive minds through the non-traditional models of ontology and agency. While science fiction has traditionally represented plural being as a troubling and fearful injury to wholeness, this paper aims to highlight the symbiotic Tok’ra1 of television series Stargate SG-1 as a model of excess being that not only challenges the naturalization of the “complete” body, but also asks us to interrogate presumed boundaries between self and other.

The Lost Girl Lawrence, David Herbert Published: 1920 Categorie(s): Fiction, Literary Source: http://gutenberg.net.au 1 About Lawrence: David Herbert Lawrence (11 September 1885 - 2 March 1930) was an important and controversial English writer of the 20th century, whose prolific and diverse output included nov- els, short stories, poems, plays, essays, travel books, paintings, translations, literary criticism and personal letters. His collec- ted works represent an extended reflection upon the dehuman- izing effects of modernity and industrialisation. In them, Lawrence confronts issues relating to emotional health and vi- tality, spontaneity, sexuality, and instinctive behaviour. Lawrence's unsettling opinions earned him many enemies and he endured hardships, official persecution, censorship and mis- representation of his creative work throughout the second half of his life, much of which he spent in a voluntary exile he called his "savage pilgrimage." At the time of his death, his public reputation was that of a pornographer who had wasted his con- siderable talents. E. M. Forster, in an obituary notice, chal- lenged this widely held view, describing him as "the greatest imaginative novelist of our generation." Later, the influential Cambridge critic F. R. Leavis championed both his artistic in- tegrity and his moral seriousness, placing much of Lawrence's fiction within the canonical "great tradition" of the English nov- el. He is now generally valued as a visionary thinker and a sig- nificant representative of modernism in English
