In 1880 the erection of the Old Mill was begun at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon. After a decade of use as a paper mill, it was gutted by fire and rebuilt in 1927. Today, the massive, ancient- -looking structure is the site of one of the most unique and interesting discotheques in the country. The Old Mill was reopened six months ago with the plan that it be more than just a dance or concert hall. Since that time, the Mill gained a reputation for featuring the best musical talent available.
