Fine Art • The unparalleled public Fine Art Collection showcased throughout CityCenter features works by Maya Lin, Jenny Holzer, Nancy Rubins, Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, Frank Stella, Henry Moore, Richard Long, Les Lalanne and Isa Genzken, among others • In front of Vdara, Nancy Rubins has created one of the most visually stunning commissions at CityCenter with a large-scale installation: “Big Edge” 2009. Measuring approximately 57 feet wide and 75 feet long, Rubins’ work of art at CityCenter is a colorful composition of numerous aluminum rowboats, canoes and other small river and ocean vessels finessed into a gravity- defying form that is both delicately balanced and precisely engineered. It is one of Rubins’ few works with a permanent home • For Vdara’s reception desk, CityCenter has purchased one of artist Frank Stella’s most prominent works. “Damascus Gate Variation I,” created in 1969, features a design of interlaced semicircles incorporating luminous colors of blue, red, orange yellow and white on a 96 x 384- inch canvas • Vdara’s concierge lobby features a commissioned work of art by Peter Wegner, entitled “Day for Night, Night for Day” 2009. The work is comprised of two wall pieces made of stacked, colored paper, one solar-themed, composed of a range of yellows and oranges and soaring approximately 45 feet, and one lunar-themed, projecting a range of blues and reaching approximately 34 feet high. Also designed by Wegner, hanging lanterns act as a conversation starter between his solar and lunar pieces and provide soft light that cascades down into the lobby
