Like last year, the long-standing Audi Sport customer teams Car Collection Motorsport, Land-Motorsport and Phoenix Racing, together with the team from Audi Sport customer racing, are each entrusted with the deployment of one R8 LMS. In addition, the brand expects further entries by private teams in various classes. Press Release June 30, 2017 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps Team75 Bernhard and Herberth Motorsport field three Porsche 911 GT3 R Stuttgart. The KÜS Team75 Bernhard will tackle the pro-category of the 24-hour race in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, with a Porsche 911 GT3 R. Herberth Motor- sport fields two Porsche 911 GT3 R at the event from July 27 to 30 driven by profes- sional and amateur drivers. Inaugurated in 1924, the 24 Hours of Spa has a long tra- dition. The squad of the two-time Le Mans winner and team owner Timo Bernhard can rely on the Porsche works drivers Michael Christensen (Denmark), Kévin Estre (France) and Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium). Vanthoor has a wealth of racing experience at his home circuit and won the endurance classic in 2014. One of Herbert Motorsport’s contenders will be manned by Porsche works driver Sven Müller (Germany), Porsche Young Professional Mathieu Jaminet (France) and the amateur pilots Daniel Alle- mann (Switzerland) and Ralf Bohn (Germany). An all-German driver lineup of Alfred and Robert Renauer, Jürgen Häring and Marc Lieb share driving duties in the sister car. Lieb is the reigning champion of the World Endurance Championship for Drivers, outright winner of the 2016 Le Mans 24-hour race and he climbed to the top of the podium at Spa in 2003. The 7.004-kilometre circuit of Spa-Francorchamps is known for its high centrifugal forces and legendary passages such as Eau Rouge and Blanchimont. Nestled in the hilly, forested Ardennes region of Belgium, the racetrack often experiences unusual weather conditions with frequent rain.

Audi Sport Team Land gewinnt das 45. ADAC 24h-Rennen am Nürburgring 28.05.2017 - Nordschleife. Erster Gesamtsieg beim legendären 24h-Rennen für Land-Motorsport. Das Audi Sport Team Land schreibt in der 45. Auflage des Langstreckenklassikers einen neuen Eifelkrimi mit Happy End. Connor De Phillippi/Christopher Mies/Markus Winkelhock und Kelvin van der Linde verlieren 90 Minuten vor Schluss die Führung im Audi R8 LMS mit der Startnummer 29 und erobern sich in der letzten Runde ihre Spitzenposition zurück. Das Schwesterauto mit der Startnummer 28 (De Phillippi/Mies/Kaffer/Haase) muss das Rennen vorzeitig in der Box beenden. Mit einer Bestzeit für die Startnummer 29 (De Phillippi/Mies/Winkelhock/van der Linde) begann der Auftakt zum 45. ADAC 24h-Rennen beim Training am Donnerstag. Kelvin van der Linde war mit 8:19,066 der schnellste Pilot im Starterfeld. Die Startnummer 28 (De Phillippi/Mies/Haase/Kaffer) belegte mit einer 8:27.955 die achte Position. Im folgenden ersten Qualifying standen für das Team Audi Sport Team Land die Plätze 4 (#29) und 19 (#28) auf dem Zeitenmonitor. Zwölf Plätze waren noch für die Teilnahme am Top-30- Qualifying zu vergeben. Die Startnummer 28 hatte sich bereits im Qualifikationsrennen (22.- 23. April 2017) die blaue Lampe gesichert, mit der die 30 schnellsten Fahrzeuge im Starterfeld ausgestattet werden. Und auch die Startnummer 29 konnte sich mit einem sechsten Platz im kombinierten Qualifying-Ergebnis vor dem 24h-Rennen die blaue Lampe sichern. Die Startpositionen für das Einzelzeitfahren wurden traditionsgemäß wieder am Freitag ausgelost. Beim abendlichen Top-30-Qualifying im Sprint um die Pole-Position war Connor De Phillippi im Cockpit der Startnummer 29 lange Zeit mit seiner Rundenzeit von 8.16,102 Minuten führend, musste sich am Ende jedoch um 0,675 Sekunden denkbar knapp geschlagen geben.

The Audi RS 3 LMS completes an outstanding weekend record with victories in five championships. Audi R8 LMS GT3 Strong one-two victory at the season opener at Monza: The DTM started into a new era with GT3 sports cars in Italy and Audi is among the winners with the R8 LMS from the very beginning. On his 25th birthday, Audi Sport driver Kelvin van der Linde was unbeatable on the high-speed circuit at Monza on race Sunday. Already in qualifying, the South African from Team ABT Sportsline proved his class with a best time in the Audi R8 LMS – the five brands in the top six positions were separated by just 0.248 seconds. On his fastest lap, van der Linde benefited, among other things, from a slipstream that brand colleague Nico Müller from Team Rosberg had given him. In the race, a key situation arose in the first turn: Van der Linde defended first place against Saturday’s winner Liam Lawson and thus maintained his advantage on a high- speed track on which overtaking is extremely difficult for the Audi drivers.

Press Release 1 August 2021 Interim report 2, 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) Porsche customer team KCMG still on course for a top result Stuttgart. After an eventful night, Porsche is within striking distance of the leading pack with the 911 GT3 R fielded by the customer team KCMG at the 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps. The No. 47 car driven by Maxime Martin, his Belgian compatriot Laurens Vanthoor and Britain’s Nick Tandy is currently running in fifth place after 18 hours. After 370 laps on the 7.004-kilometre Grand Prix circuit, the vehicle is just one lap behind the leader. The second best nine-eleven with KCMG drivers Josh Burdon (Australia), Alexandere Imperatori (Switzerland) and Edoardo Liberati (Italy) ranks eleventh. An unfortunate caution phase around midnight cost the armada of 911 GT3 R the direct contact to the leading vehicles. This was followed by a streak of bad luck, which knocked many of the 500+PS sports cars from Weissach out of contention. At around 3am, the No. 22 entry from GPX Racing had to pit for repairs due to a steering problem. At about 5.30am, the car shared by Earl Bamber (New Zealand) and the works driver Matt Campbell (Australia) and Mathieu Jaminet (France) pulled out. Over long stretches during the night, Schnabl Engineering’s 911 GT3 R took over the role as the leading Porsche and maintained a steady pace among the top ten. Shortly before 4am, however, the car came into contact with another vehicle at the entrance to Eau Rouge, heralding an early end for Michael Christensen (Denmark), Dennis Olsen (Norway) and the French works driver Frédéric Makowiecki.

ABT Sportsline 2021 – Press Release Week 33 70th victory for Team ABT Sportsline in the DTM Kelvin van der Linde has given Team ABT Sportsline its 70th victory in the DTM. Following his victories at Monza and Zolder, the championship leader also won Saturday’s race at the Nürburgring. After the first half of the season, the South African, who lives near Kempten, has a 33-point lead in the drivers’ championship. In the teams’ championship, ABT Sportsline is also at the top of the table after the first half of the 2021 DTM season. Saturday was a picture-perfect day for ABT Sportsline: Kelvin van der Linde secured pole position for the third time this season with a perfect qualifying lap and then celebrated a commanding victory. On the way, he only had to shake twice when late stoppers Timo Glock and Alex Albon put up a massive fight against the ABT driver. The South African stayed cool, grabbed the two opponents and, after crossing the finish line, ordered an ice cream from SAT.1 commentator Eddy Mielke, which was promptly served to him by colleague Andrea Kaiser at the podium ceremony. Walter Kolb accepted the trophy for the winning team. The 73-year-old pensioner from Isny had auctioned a seat at the pit stand of ABT Sportsline for the race at the Nürburgring by donating 6,000 Euros for the victims of the flood disaster in the region. The DTM was the first race event after the flood at the Nürburgring. Before the start of the race, children affected by the flood had visited the ABT Sportsline pit and were even allowed to hold the steering wheel of the eventual winning car in their hands before the race.

newsroom Motorsports Oct 13, 2019 IMSA: Porsche wins all titles at the Petit Le Mans season finale The Porsche GT Team concluded the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season by winning the manufacturer, driver and team titles. At the final round of the season at Road Atlanta (USA), the two Porsche 911 RSR flying the Coca-Cola colours finished on positions five and six. Race This race marked the 50th and final factory outing for the successful GT vehicle from Stuttgart, which won six of the eleven rounds on the 2019 IMSA calendar. The Porsche works drivers Earl Bamber (New Zealand) and Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) have been crowned the drivers’ champions, with the team title going to the squad campaigning the No. 912 Porsche 911 RSR. In the GTD class, the Pfaff Motorsports customer team achieved a podium result with the No. 9 Porsche 911 GT3 R. The ten-hour Petit Le Mans race in the US state of Georgia was distinguished by the constant lapping manoeuvres. With 34 vehicles competing on the 3.6-kilometre circuit, the order was quickly established. When the safety car was deployed for a final time shortly before the finish, the gaps shrunk. In the ensuing 25-minute sprint, Bamber battled valiantly to clinch a podium spot, but was unable to do better than fifth place in the fierce competition of the GTLM class. For the final round of the season, the New Zealander and his Belgian teammate Vanthoor shared driving duties with the Frenchman Mathieu Jaminet in the ca. 510 hp 911 RSR, which is based on the high-performance Porsche 911 GT3 RS* road-going sports car.
