This round is also the second in the four-race Intercontinental GT Challenge which is now in its second season. The Intercontinental GT Challenge represents the highest achievement in long distance GT racing, and 2017 Porsche works driver Laurens Vanthoor finished on the podium in each of last year’s three races, winning the season finale, the Motul Sepang 12 Hours. www.porscheroadandrace.com The #117 KÜS Team75 Bernhard Porsche GT3 R will be driven by Laurens Vanthoor, Kevin Estre and Michael Christensen in the 2017 Spa 24 Hour By uniting these iconic events (Blancpain GT Series and Intercontinental GT Challenge) in one series, the level of racing at each round will certainly increase, elevating the event’s appeal to fans, sponsors, media, drivers and teams alike. The 2017 rounds include: the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hours (3-5 February), Total 24 Hours of Spa (27-30 July), California 8 Hours (14-15 October) and Sepang 12 Hours (9-12 December). The Intercontinental GT Challenge is aimed at manufacturers, who are encouraged to use local teams to represent them in these GT3 races, as it is more cost- and time-effective to fly engineers and drivers around the world, rather than cars and equipment. As this endurance concept has appealed to spectators and manufacturers alike, Porsche decided at the start of the season to support Porsche teams during all four rounds of the 2017 Intercontinental GT www.porscheroadandrace.com Challenge. The #912 Herberth Motorsport Porsche 991 GT3 R driven by Daniel Allemann, Ralf Bohn, Sven Müller and Mathieu Jaminet in the pits at the 2017 Spa 24 Hour race At the Bathurst 12 Hours, the #12 Porsche 911 GT3 R of Calvert-Jones, Long, Lieb and Campbell crossed the finish line in second position. This means that Porsche heads to the Total 24 Hours of Spa second in the manufacturers standings of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, seven points behind leader Ferrari. In the Belgian Ardennes, Porsche will support two squads entering Porsche 911 GT3 R, KÜS Team75 Bernhard and Herberth Motorsport. For the final two rounds of the 2017 Intercontinental GT Challenge (California and Sepang), local specialists are yet to be chosen to carry the Porsche colours, in their bid to become this year’s manufacturers champion of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. www.porscheroadandrace.com The Spa 24 Hour race was first held in 1924, just one year after the first Le Mans 24 Hour race, and has been held almost continuously every year since. So, the event’s prestige is without question, and this year’s race which is the 69th Spa 24, will be no exception. Both a Manufacturers’ and Drivers’ title will be awarded in the Pro category, while only a Drivers’ title will be awarded in Pro-Am. The events all have common technical regulations, while SRO will manage the BoP. The cars on display in Spa city during the 2017 Spa 24 Hour drivers’ parade In an effort to bring the race atmosphere to the Belgian city, a drivers’ parade followed a route from the circuit into the city on Wednesday where the drivers signed autographs. The parade then retraced its steps, and returned to the circuit that evening. The first 90-minute Free Practice 1 session (FP1) will be held on Thursday, followed by three more qualifying sessions that will finish at 23h55 that night. www.porscheroadandrace.com The #911 Herberth Motorsport Porsche 991 GT3 R driven by Jürgen Häring, Alfred Renauer, Robert Renauer and Marc Lieb in the pits at the 2017 Spa 24 Hour race Qualifying is very different from all other Blancpain GT Series rounds. Teams are free to drive as they wish during the two sessions, with refuelling allowed, and teams able to work on the cars, including putting them in the garages. All drivers must set a qualifying time in at least one of the sessions, but all drivers must complete two timed laps during the night qualifying session. The best time from each car over both sessions is used to determine the top 20 cars, which will qualify for the Superpole. The Superpole sees the top 20 cars each do two laps, leaving the pit lane at one-minute intervals. The teams may choose the driver to take part in the Superpole session. A 30-minute warm up is scheduled for Friday afternoon, with a 30-minute Superpole shoot-out from 19h30 to 20h00. An all-German driver lineup of Alfred and Robert Renauer, Jürgen Häring and Marc Lieb share driving duties in the sister car. Lieb is the reigning champion of the World Endurance Championship for Drivers, outright winner of the 2016 Le Mans 24-hour race and he climbed to the top of the podium at Spa in 2003. The 7.004-kilometre circuit of Spa-Francorchamps is known for its high centrifugal forces and legendary passages such as Eau Rouge and Blanchimont.     Press Release 1 August 2021 Interim report 2, 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) Porsche customer team KCMG still on course for a top result Stuttgart. After an eventful night, Porsche is within striking distance of the leading pack with the 911 GT3 R fielded by the customer team KCMG at the 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps. The No. 47 car driven by Maxime Martin, his Belgian compatriot Laurens Vanthoor and Britain’s Nick Tandy is currently running in fifth place after 18 hours. After 370 laps on the 7.004-kilometre Grand Prix circuit, the vehicle is just one lap behind the leader. The second best nine-eleven with KCMG drivers Josh Burdon (Australia), Alexandere Imperatori (Switzerland) and Edoardo Liberati (Italy) ranks eleventh. An unfortunate caution phase around midnight cost the armada of 911 GT3 R the direct contact to the leading vehicles. This was followed by a streak of bad luck, which knocked many of the 500+PS sports cars from Weissach out of contention. At around 3am, the No. 22 entry from GPX Racing had to pit for repairs due to a steering problem. At about 5.30am, the car shared by Earl Bamber (New Zealand) and the works driver Matt Campbell (Australia) and Mathieu Jaminet (France) pulled out. Over long stretches during the night, Schnabl Engineering’s 911 GT3 R took over the role as the leading Porsche and maintained a steady pace among the top ten. Shortly before 4am, however, the car came into contact with another vehicle at the entrance to Eau Rouge, heralding an early end for Michael Christensen (Denmark), Dennis Olsen (Norway) and the French works driver Frédéric Makowiecki.

At the final round of the season at Road Atlanta (USA), the two Porsche 911 RSR flying the Coca-Cola colours finished on positions five and six. Race This race marked the 50th and final factory outing for the successful GT vehicle from Stuttgart, which won six of the eleven rounds on the 2019 IMSA calendar. The Porsche works drivers Earl Bamber (New Zealand) and Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) have been crowned the drivers’ champions, with the team title going to the squad campaigning the No. 912 Porsche 911 RSR. In the GTD class, the Pfaff Motorsports customer team achieved a podium result with the No. 9 Porsche 911 GT3 R. The ten-hour Petit Le Mans race in the US state of Georgia was distinguished by the constant lapping manoeuvres. With 34 vehicles competing on the 3.6-kilometre circuit, the order was quickly established. When the safety car was deployed for a final time shortly before the finish, the gaps shrunk. In the ensuing 25-minute sprint, Bamber battled valiantly to clinch a podium spot, but was unable to do better than fifth place in the fierce competition of the GTLM class. For the final round of the season, the New Zealander and his Belgian teammate Vanthoor shared driving duties with the Frenchman Mathieu Jaminet in the ca. 510 hp 911 RSR, which is based on the high-performance Porsche 911 GT3 RS* road-going sports car.

The IMSA competition is extremely close, so our team partners pushed those limits on a very fast, hot and bumpy track.” said Chris Baker, Motorsports Director, Michelin North America. “We expected the track temperature to increase 10 degrees C from the race start at 10:40 a.m. to a peak between 45 and 50 degrees at mid-race and then drop 8 degrees by the finish, and the track was 28 degrees at the start, peaked at 48 degrees and then dropped back down,” said Chris Baker, director of motorsport, Michelin North America. Porsche prevails Porsche and BMW extended the use of their Michelin “cool” range tires for much of the 12 Hour race on the fast, bumpy 3.74 mile circuit to score the first “major” win for the latest generation Porsche 911 RSR. “We did all of our setup work in the night sessions and during the morning sessions based on track temps,” said Nick Tandy.
