Players/Members

I would like my child to join the mini and youth rugby sessions held at Birkenhead Park FC (“the Club”). I understand that the Club, its servants, agents, employees or coaches are not under any liability whatsoever for the loss of property, accidents or injuries of or to myself or my child, however caused whilst on Club premises, or during the course of training, preparation or matches played at the Club or other grounds. Until the subscription is paid the RFU’s insurance cover will not be valid and the child will not be allowed to train or play. Although, I understand that the Club would prefer parents to be present at all times, if this is not possible and it becomes necessary for my child to receive medical treatment and I cannot be contacted by telephone or any other means to authorise this, I hereby give my general consent to any necessary medical treatment and authorise the Coach in charge of the age group to sign any document required by the hospital authorities. I further consent to my child travelling by private transport to away fixtures when I am unable to provide the necessary transport. I confirm that the date of birth of my child is as on the application form. I confirm that above details on the Application Form are correct and that I will inform you of any changes in my data (mobile phone numbers, email etc.) and particularly any medical changes so as not to invalidate the insurance cover with the Club. The information above will be held for registration purposes and in accordance with the Club’s Data Protection Policy. I confirm that I have read the code of conduct overleaf and I agree that my child, named on the Application Form and I will be bound by the laws, resolutions, and rules of Rugby Football Union (RFU) and its constituent bodies and the Code of Conduct of BPFC. I also permit the taking and storage of still and video photography of the member to be used for promotional and training purposes.

The promotion of all young players' enjoyment of the game is without question our main objective.

Please observe your responsibilities to the Club and to your child as outlined in this simple Code of Conduct.

• There is an expectation you will be present when your child is playing or training

• Do not force an unwilling child to play rugby

• Ensure your child is properly equipped to play rugby, wears a gum shield from U9’s onwards and has suitable clothing at all games and training sessions

• Educate your child to understand and respect the Laws of the Game

• Keep out of dressing rooms and changing areas unless you have a good and valid reason for attending to your child

• Acknowledge and respect the value and importance of volunteer coaches and referees

• As a spectator, you represent Birkenhead Park FC (Rugby Union) and it is by your actions and attitude our club will be judged.

• Set a good example on the touchline – we know you had trials for as a youth but not all children will make this grade! Never publicly question a refereeing decision and do not criticise a childs play on the field

• Applaud good play by both sides, encourage players but do not ridicule or belittle any player. Be proud not loud.

Players' Code of Conduct

As a player and member of Birkenhead Park FC (Rugby Union) Junior Section you have a responsibility to uphold the long traditions of sportsmanship before, during and after each game of rugby or training session. Competitiveness and a determination to perform well and develop your skills and abilities are all very important, but not as important as enjoying the game.

Please observe your responsibilities to the Club, to your parents and your teammates as outlined in this simple Code of Conduct.

• Participate for the enjoyment of the game - not to please your parents or your coach

• Ensure you are on time and be attentive at all matches and training sessions

• Wear the proper protective equipment as advised by your parents and coaches

• Learn to understand and respect the Laws of the Game

• Be attentive during training sessions and matches and listen to your coach

• Treat all players - both your teammates and opponents as you would like to be treated.

• Work equally hard for yourself and for your team. Rugby is a team game.

• Be a sportsman - applaud and shake hands with all your opponents after each match - win draw or lose

• Respect all property and equipment belonging to Birkenhead Park FC (Rugby Union)
