Today at the halfway stage in the Cou nty Championship programme we, Cheshire, find ourselves without any points. In our last game against Lancashire we were heavily defeated, but despite the high score the pleasing aspect was that at no time did the players let their heads drop. 1would like to extend a very warm welcome to our old friends from the north east, Northumberland, to the Birkenhead Club. They, similar to ourselves, have had a mixed season. Having said that 1 am quite sure that both teams will take to the field with something to prove. We look forward to a good game and 1wish both teams the best of luck. 1 should also like to thank Birkenhead Park for hosting today's game. Their weil proven organisation on these occasions is always of the highest order. George C. Cox Today's match balls have been generously sponsored by: M essrs.
