Newmeyer and Sam Taylor The Wicker Man (2006) [102 min.] After delighting audiences of all ages with screenings of the Directed by Neil LaBute compilation fi lm Harold Lloyd’s World of Comedy as a kiddee Neil LaBute’s ill-fated remake of The Wicker Man is a hoot-and-a-half, matinee last year, we’ve decided to bring back more Lloyd with a modern camp classic that might be totally risible if it just weren’t so his classic silent fi lm Safety Last!. Lloyd plays a young man who damn fun. Nicolas Cage dials it to 11, swinging for the fences as an heads to the big city to make his fortune so he can marry his eccentric policeman who travels to a small island to investigate the hometown sweetheart. He eventually agress to perform a disappearance of a young girl. But there he discovers a larger conspiracy, publicity stunt that involves him climbing the side of a tall Harold Lloyd’s tries to avoid bees, wears a bear costume, punches a woman in the building in one of the greatest thrill sequences in all of silent “Safety Last!” face and screams memorable lines like “HOW’D IT GET BURNED?!?” fi lm, featuring the iconic image of Lloyd hanging from a clock.
