In the absence of any Second XI cricket and the One Day Cup competition, the Bob Willis Trophy reports have been expanded to include a write up for each day’s play as well as the full scorecards. Sadly all fixtures were played behind closed doors so hopefully these extended reports will enable readers to get the feeling of actually being at the game! In addition, the Somerset Women’s team reports plus the Boys and Girls Pathway write ups are included in the first half of the book as they now come under the remit of Somerset CCC rather than the Somerset Cricket Board.

1 FOREWORD More has been said about the writing of lawyers and judges than of any other group, except, of course, poets and novelists. The difference is that while the latter has usually been admired for their writing, the public has almost always damned lawyers and judges for theirs. If this state of affairs has changed in recent times, it is only in that many lawyers and judges have now joined the rest of the world is complaining about the quality of legal prose. My best wishes to all these student contributors, for their future endeavors. My best wishes and assurance to the readers that this will add a lot to the knowledge after reading this Judiciary notes. • The Hunts Herald News About the Huntingdonshire County Cricket Club Edition 5, Spring 2011
The Hunts Herald News about the Huntingdonshire County Cricket Club Edition 5, Spring 2011 Gary Whitbread 1st July 1957- 10th January 2011 The County Club was very shocked and saddened when Chairman Gary Whitbread passed away peacefully in Addenbrookes Hospital on Monday 10th January 2011 after a bravely borne illness. Gary was 53 and had been Chairman for six years prior to which he had been Vice Chairman, Manager and of course player. He was a very well known sporting figure in the District having played cricket for Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, Hatley, Papworth and Kimbolton as well as football for St Neots Town and Eynesbury Rovers. Apart from being current Chairman of the County Club he was a member of the over 50’s County eleven and the Club representative on the Huntingdonshire County Cricket Board. He left a wife Tammy, son Ben and daughter Abbie as well as two grandchildren Finley and Niamh. He was a very devoted family man, kind generous and extremely gregarious and he nurtured a special interest in encouraging youngsters in both football and cricket spending some of his time as the goalkeeping coach at Eynesbury as well as attending the County U19 cricket fixtures. His long association with Huntingdonshire cricket began with schools cricket before going on to play for the full County side 64 times between 1979 and 2002. He also made several appearances for Cambridgeshire in the Minor Counties competition. Over 500 family members, friends, cricketers, footballers and work colleagues attended Gary’s funeral at St.Neots Parish Church on Friday 28 January.
