[email protected], [email protected] Resumen En este estudio se presenta una clave para la identificación de las moráceas de la ciudad de Mérida a través de caracteres vegetativos, con el fin de aportar una herramienta que permita ser usada de forma sencilla y rápida. Se encontraron tres géneros y once especies, de las cuales nueve pertenecen al género Ficus. Las especies se diferenciaron por el tipo de hábito, presencia de espinas, glándulas en el pecíolo; puntos translúcidos, tipo de borde y pelos en la lámina; además de caracteres cuantitativos relacionados con la longitud de los pecíolos, láminas y estípulas. Palabras clave: Moraceae, identificación, caracteres vegetativos, Mérida. Abstract In this study we present an identification key to Moraceae from Merida city through the use of vegetative characters as a tool to be used easily and quickly. We found three genera and eleven species, of which nine belong to the genus Ficus. The species differ by the type of habit, presence of spines, glands in the petiole, translucent punctate, margin type, pubescence in the lamina, and quantitative characters related to the length of the petioles, blades and stipules. Revisi disetujui 15 November 2016 ABSTRACT Amphibians are kind of export commodity that was great, because Indonesian exports frog up thousands of tons each year. The frogs were exported are large- bodied species of frogs obtained from cultivation and captured directly from their habitat. Meanwhile, types of great frogs in general of a group of families Dicroglosidae in southern Solok region is part of the national park area kerinci seblat namely the utilization zone. In this area found a lot of types of frogs, including the type of Dicroglossidae. Amphibians search by visual methods ecounter Survey (VES) is focused on the path specified, by walking in a location which is widely expected at 18:00 to 23:00 pm. Based on the results of the study found five species Dicroglosidae in the Utillitation Zone in South Solok TNKS Region, including Fejervarya limnocharis, limnonectes Ingeri, limnonectes macrodon, limnonectes ibanorum, limnonectes shompenorum. Key Word: Familia Dicrolossidae, Utillitation Zone, South Solok ABSTRAK Amphibia merupakan jenis komoditi ekspor yang cukup besar, karena indonesia mengekspor katak hingga ribuan ton tiap tahunnya. Katak-katak yang diekspor adalah jenis katak berbadan besar yang diperoleh dari pembudidayaan dan ditangkap langsung dari habitatnya. Sementara, jenis-jenis katak berbadab besar pada umumnya dari kelompok famili Dicroglosidae. -

Activities such as amenity forests, camping sites and outdoor sports can cause destruction to natural habitat. Geologically, the formation involved granites as the core and quartzite covers the outer layer of the mountain. This indicates the establishment of hill heath forest vegetation, mostly on the summit region and lowland dipterocarp forest vegetation at lower region. The uniqueness of its vegetation attracts botanists and collectors to do series of plant collection since 1845. -

Epilist 1.0: a Global Checklist of Vascular Epiphytes

However, to date, there is no comprehensive list of vas- cular epiphyte species. Here, we present EpiList 1.0, the first global list of vascular epiphytes based on standardized definitions and taxonomy. We include obligate epiphytes, facultative epiphytes, and hemiepiphytes, as the latter share the vulnerable epiphytic stage as juveniles. Based on 978 references, the checklist includes >31,000 species of 79 plant families. Species names were standardized against World Flora Online for seed plants and against the World Ferns database for lycophytes and ferns. In cases of species missing from these databases, we used other databases (mostly World Checklist of Selected Plant Families). For all species, author names and IDs for World Flora Online entries are provided to facilitate the alignment with other plant databases, and to avoid ambiguities. EpiList 1.0 will be a rich source for synthetic studies in ecology, biogeography, and evolutionary biology as it offers, for the first time, a species‐level overview over all currently known vascular epiphytes. At the same time, the list represents work in progress: species descriptions of epiphytic taxa are ongoing and published life form information in floristic inventories and trait and distribution databases is often incomplete and sometimes evenwrong. -

Susatya A. 2018. The potential risk of tree regeneration failure in species-rich Taba Penanjung lowland rainforest, Bengkulu, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 19: 1891-1901. Tropical lowland rain forest is recognized by its high species richness with very few trees per species. It is also known for having tendency to outcrossing of its species with different floral sexualities, which requires the synchronization between flowering of its trees and the presence of pollinators. Such ecological attributes raise possible constraints for the forest trees to regenerate. The objective of the study was to assess the potential risk of failed regeneration for each tree species of the forest. Each of species with dbh of more than 5 cm in a one-ha plot was collected, identified, and its ecological criteria, including rarity, floral sexuality, seed size, and flowering phenology were determined. The potential risk of the failure of regeneration was calculated by summing all scores from Analytical Hierarchical Process of the criteria. The results indicated that the forest consisted of 118 species belonging to 69 genera and 37 families. Rare species accounted to 52.10% of the total species. -

Slik* Environmental and Life Sciences, Faculty of Science, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Jalan Tungku Link, Gadong, BE1410, Brunei Darussalam *corresponding author email [email protected] Abstract We provide a checklist of new seed plant species (Angiosperms and Gymnosperms) in Brunei Darussalam with detailed information. The plant database for Brunei, extracted from the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) was compared with the existing plant checklist for Brunei and plant holdings of the UBD herbarium (UBDH). 215 species of seed plants, belonging to 59 families, were found in the GBIF list that were absent in both the Brunei checklist and UBDH collections. The plant family that recorded the highest number of new plant species was Orchidaceae, but overall, tree species dominate the list. Only 8% of the new species were IUCN Red-List evaluated. Most new species collections came from Tutong district, but the highest number of new species was from Temburong district. Almost all new species collections came from areas with easy access such as near roads and around the Kuala Belalong Field Study Centre. As much of the Brunei rainforest remains unexplored, new discoveries are likely to occur. Index Terms: Brunei Darussalam, Brunei checklist, new species records, GBIF, seed plants, threat status 1. This family includes some medicinally important species, in particular the members of genera of Alpinia, Curcuma, Etlingera and Zingiber (Van Balgooy, 2001). Objective: to identify the traditional usages and evaluate for phytochemical screening of selected Zingiberaceae from Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. Material and Methods: Zingiberaceae samples were collected from the Lore Lindu National Park (LLNP), Central Sulawesi Indonesia and its surroundings and evaluated for their phytochemical contents by using TLC method with particular spraying reagents. Results: the plants were used by the local ethnics for different daily and medicinal purposes. All part of each selected species of Zingiberaceae contain flavonoid, tannins, saponins, triterpenoid and alkaloid although steroids were only found in the leaves of Etlingera flexuosa, Curcuma mangga and Alpinia galanga. Alkaloids were only found in the rhyzome of Etlingera flexuosa, Curcuma aerugynosa, Zingiber montanum. Besides it was also detected in leaves of both Alpinia rubricaulis and Etlingera Ramadanil1,*, Damry2, acanthoides. Additionally, Alkaloids were also discovered in the stem of Ammomum aculeata, Rusdi2, Baharuddin Alpinia galanga and Curcuma mangga.
