Provenance: The fresco was removed from the wall and moved to the royal Palace in the second half of the 18th century (1759-1806). All finds excavated at Pompeii and Herculaneum were part of the royal collection. Vesuvian finds were initially exhibited in the Museo di Portici, inside

the Royal Palace. At the beginning of the 19th c. they were moved to Naples in the Real Museo Borbonico, later to become Museo Nazionale di Napoli.
