From LaGuardia airport (LGA) to Poughkeepsie

City bus (M60-SBS) + Train - (cheapest route) 1. Pick up your luggage at the baggage claim.

2. Go towards the airport exit doors. There you can buy a metro card from the machine. The bus ride will cost $2.75 per person and the machine will charge an extra dollar for just the card itself. You can also use one card for more than one person by putting more money on it.

3. Go to ticket kiosk right outside the terminal across the street, next to the bus stop for the M60 express bus.

4. Buy a bus ticket with your metro card. (Basically you press the button and insert your newly purchased metro card, and keep the ticket that comes out.)

5. Enter the M60 bus when it arrives through any door. Ticket may be checked anytime during the trip. (This bus stops at all the airport terminals to pick up passengers, so you can get it from any terminal.)

6. Take the M60 express bus and get off at E. 125 St/Lexington Ave. in (if in doubt, ask the bus driver or a passenger where to exit) It will be approximately a 20 - 25 minute bus ride depending on traffic.

7. Walk to the Metro North Train station on the corner of Park Ave and (the street the bus was on). 101 E. 125 St. The entrance to the station is under the train tracks, very close to where the bus dropped you off.

8. Inside the station, at the window, buy a Metro North train ticket to Poughkeepsie. The schedule from the - 125th Street station can be found here searching for: “Metro North train schedule east of hudson”. Try to get on a direct train, some trains require a transfer at Croton Harmon.

9. When you arrive at the train station in Poughkeepsie, go upstairs and into the station to wait for pickup. Call the scheduled pick up person while on the train to let them know your arrival time. Shuttle Bus NYC Express Bus is the official operator for the DOT and the Port Authority of and , from JFK & LaGuardia Airports to and from Manhattan, 7 days a week from 11:00am to 7:00pm. Take bus to Grand Central. They come every 30 min from JFK and every hour from LGA. It costs $16 (LGA) and $19 (JFK) one way. Prices on website are subject to change. Website.

Exit the bus and walk a few blocks to 42 street where the station is. 5. Go to the central part of the station - It is a large open area with an information booth in the center & clock on top (the level above the restaurants). Look for machines or windows that sell train tickets. 6. Purchase a ticket for the Metro North train to Poughkeepsie. Depending on the time of day, some trains to Poughkeepsie are direct. Some go halfway making the passengers change to another train to get to Poughkeepsie. Try to get a direct train to Poughkeepsie. 7. Check the screens for the track number. Then head for the track and get on the train. It's about a 2 hour ride. During your ride, call the contact person and let them know what time your train arrives in Poughkeepsie. 8. When you arrive at the train station in Poughkeepsie, go upstairs and into the station. Look for the designated person who will pick you up. If you don't see him/her, call the contact person again to get more information.
