5 British Telecommunications plc 2017 FAQs

If the customer’s hub is faulty can they get another for free? If a customer contacts sales with a fault on a hub they should be transferred to repair, repair will then replace the hub with the same model like for like if it is IN WARRANTY. If OUT OF WARRANTY they will sell the customer a new one. Sales should not get involved in repair discussions

How far does the wi-fi signal go? Wi-fi signal and distance depends on the type of premises the customer has – number of floors – construction of walls – placement of hub – so we cannot confirm the distance but you can say it’s our strongest wi-fi yet

Can I connect more cloud licenses to the Smart Hub than we can to Hub 5? No – the volume of licenses remains the same, however Smart Hub will give better prioritisation to cloud calls than Hub 5 did and can therefore offer better cloud call quality

A customer has asked me a technical specification question that I don’t know the answer to, where can I find answers like this? The Partners Academy Point has a new Smart Hub customer brochure which includes a table of full technical spec, this should be sent to the customer to allow them to be sure that the Smart Hub meets all requirements

How much is the Smart Hub delivery charge? For this new advanced product the delivery charge costs £8.50, however it also reduces the cost of buying the hub to £55

How should I handle a mover? Use the same day mover process and the customer should take existing equipment with them
