Born in Holstein, he first came into prominence through the Memorandum he presented at the election of the Holy Roman Emperor in Frank• furt in 1612. The Memorandum contained a brief proposal for reforming schools and bringing about unity of government, language and religion throughout the empire. Apart from these few facts, there is almost nothing concerning Ratke on which historians agree. -

This Study Analyzes the Historical-Temporal Being of the Pedagogy
This study analyzes the historical-temporal being of the pedagogy created and organized by Wolfgang Ratke at the dawn of the XVII century, for the German-language regions. His proposal for the “education for all” and his art of teaching preceded Comenio’s didactics are founded in bourgeois thinking. The objects of the analysis are Ratke’s educational activities starting from the working category of the singular/universal. In this sense, commercial capital and its ideology were singularized in a generalized education organized in the light of nature for all the sons of Lutheranism. However, his method of teaching, objective, efficient, operational, practical and utilitarian, is inscribed in the manufactured material production. Keywords: Modern Pedagogical Realism, Religious Public Schooling and Bourgeois Thought, The Art of Teaching, Education and the Singular/Universal Category. -

INFORMATION TO USERS This material was produced from a microfilm copy of the original document. While the most advanced 'technological means to photograph and reproduce this document have been used, the quality is heavily dependent upon the quality of the original submitted. The following explanation of techniques is provided to help you understand markings or patterns which may appear on this reproduction. 1. The sign or "target" for pages apparently lacking from the document photographed is "Missing Page(s)". If it was possible to obtain the missing page(s) or section, they are spliced into the film along with adjacent pages. This may have necessitated cutting thru an image and duplicating adjacent pages to insure you complete continuity. 2. When an image^pn the film is obliterated with a large round black mark, it is an indication that the photographer suspected that the copy may have moved during exposure and thus cause a blurred image. You will find a good image of the page in the adjacent frame. 3. When a map, drawing or chart, etc., was part of the material being photographed the photographer followed a definite method in "sectioning" the material. It is customary to begin photoing at the upper left hand corner of a large sheet and to continue photoing from left to right in equal sections with a small overlap. If necessary, sectioning is continued again — beginning below the first row and continuing on until complete. 4. The majority of users indicate that the textual content is of greatest value, however, a somewhat higher quality reproduction could be made from "photographs" if essential to the understanding of the dissertation. -
An Anniversary Left Untold. the 400Th Anniversary of the Publishing of the Frankfurt Memorandum
Robert Sarnecki DOI: 10.14746/bhw.2018.38.42 Department of Educational Studies Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań An anniversary left untold. The 400th anniversary of the publishing of the Frankfurt Memorandum Abstract The History of Education, one of the courses offered at teacher education studies at the University of Szczecin, has been taught since the 1960’s. It was then when Teacher Education College in Szczecin was set up as a branch of Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań. In 1973 Teacher Education College was transformed into an independent unit – Pedagogy Academy. The establishment of the University of Szczecin in 1985 marked a new chapter in the process of the development of the history of educa tion as a course offered at pedagogical studies. History of Education Department was set up in 1992 and professor Danuta Koźmian was chair of the department throughout its existence. Scientific and didactic work of professor Danuta Koźmian first at Teacher Education College, through Pedagogy Academy and the University of Szczecin has been crucial for the development of the history of education as a course taught at teacher education studies in Szczecin. In 2008 professor Danuta Koźmian retired and the Council of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Szczecin estab lished the Chair for the History of Education appointing professor Wiesław Andrukowicz, Ph.D its head. Keywords: the University of Szczecin, the Department and Chair for the History of Education, course: the History of Education at the University of Szczecin [...] tread not on the altars of the past, Although you are meant to surpass their creation.
