Abstrak Bubu menjadi salah satu alat tangkap yang umum digunakan untuk menangkap ikan di rawa dan sungai di Jambi. Penggunaan alat tangkap ini seringkali disertai dengan umpan untuk memikat ikan target untuk masuk ke dalamnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji coba buah sawit sebagai umpan dalam menangkap ikan limbat (Clarias nieuhofii) di Kabupaten Tebo, Jambi. Pengambilan data dilakukan selama tiga bulan yang dimulai pada Juni sampai Agustus 2020 di perairan rawa Desa Sukamaju, Kabupaten Rimbo Ulu, Kabupaten Tebo, Provinsi Jambi. Metode yang digunakan adalah survey dengan menerapkan teknik penangkapan eksperimen (experimental fishing). Sebanyak tiga unit bubu kawat yang telah dipasangi dengan umpan buah sawit dengan 30 kali ulangan. Ikan yang tertangkap diidentifikasi dan ditabulasi serta selanjutnya dianalisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 145 ekor ikan yang tertangkap dengan didominasi oleh ikan limbat (C. niehofii), kemudian diikuti oleh empat spesies lainnya seperti ikan sepat (Trigchogaster trichopterus), bujuk (Channa lucius cuvier), betok (Anabas testudineus) dan (kepiting) yuyu (Parathelphusa convexa). Jumlah tangkapan tertinggi dan terendah terjadi pada bulan Juli dan Juni. Ikan limbat (C. niehofii) yang tertangkap memiliki variasi ukuran dengan kisaran panjang 8,70 cm – 38,00 cm (rata-rata 19,27 cm) dan kisaran berat 8,90 gram – 213,60 gram (rata-rata 74,33 gram). Pemanfaatan buah sawit sebagai umpan dapat menarik perhatian ikan-ikan target pada alat tangkap bubu yang digunakan. Kata kunci— bubu; buah sawit; Kabupaten Tebo; rawa; umpan. Abstract A fish trap becoming one of fishing gears commonly utilized to catch fish in swamps and rivers in Jambi. Using this kind of gears is frequently accompanied by baits to interest the target fish to getting in this trap. This research was aimed at testing the fruits of oil-palm as baits in capturing the slender walking catfish (Clarias nieuhofiii) in Tebo Regency, Jambi. Collecting data was carried out for three months starting from June to August 2020 in the swamp waters of Sukamaju Village, Rimbo Ulu Sub-district, Tebo Regency – Jambi. The method used was a survey by applying an experimental fishing. Amounts of three wire traps accompanied with oil- palm fruits as baits had been applied to catch the fish with 30 times of replications. The catch fish were identified, tabulated and analysed. The results of this research indicate about the 145 fish captured using the fishing gear are dominated by the slender walking catfish (C. niehofii), followed by four other fish species such as three spot gourami (Trigchogaster trichopterus), forest snakehead fish (Channa lucius cuvier), climbing perch (Anabas testudineus), and (crab) yuyu (Parathelphusa convexa). The highest and lowest catch occur on July and June, respectively. The catch slender walking catfish possesses size variations such as length range of 8.70 cm – 38.00 cm (in average of 19.27 cm), and weight range of 8.90 grams – 213.60 grams (in average of 73.33 grams). The utilization of oil-palm plant fruits as baits of wire-traps is able to attract the target fish into the applied traps. Keywords— bait, fish trap, oil-palm plant fruit, Tebo Regency, wetlands. Ikan ini tersebar luas di Asia Tenggara dan beragam karena dilalui oleh perairan termasuk Semenanjung Malaysia, Indonesia sungai dan danau seperti Sungai Batanghari, (Jawa, Sumatera dan Kalimantan), Batang Tebo, Batang Sumay, Batang Tabir, Singapura, Thailand, dan Filipina [4]. Nama Danau Tanduk, Sungai Alai, dan anak ikan beragam beragam di berbagai daerah sungai lainnya [1] [2]. Potensi perikanan ini seperti ikan keli panjang di Desa Jungkal telah memberikan sumbangsih pada Sektor Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir, Provinsi Pertanian, Kehutanan, dan Perikanan Sumatera Selatan [5], ikan keli lokal di Kabupaten Tebo sebesar 49,06%. Kontribusi Kepulauan Bangka-Belitung [6], ikan sektor perikanan tersebut ditopang oleh limbke (Kampar, Riau), Lembat (Jambi dan kurang lebih 1.567 kepala keluarga (KK) Sumatera Utara), Kaleh (Kalimantan), dan perikanan di kabupaten ini. Abstract The population structure and genetic diversities of Clarias gariepinus from the cultured population at Chi Farm (Ajanla) and wild population at Asejire Reservoir (Asejire) were analysed using Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and Microsatellite DNA markers. Using a CTAB protocol, genomic DNA was extracted from the caudal fins of 20 samples of live specimen collected from each population. Seven RAPD primers and seven pairs of microsatellite DNA primers were used to amplify different loci on the extracted genomic DNA by Polymerase Chain Reaction and the resultant DNA fragments were analysed on agarose gel. The RAPD primers amplified a total of 474 loci with 697 bands in all samples for the seven primers studied.

However, database on species occurrence that corresponds with the water physico-chemistry constituents is often not available. The problem is compounded by the lack of species identification description to assist those working on river and freshwater resource conservation projects. This paper attempts to fill the gaps in the context of Kampar River drainage. Based on sampling exercises conducted from October 2015 to March 2017, an annotated list with visual data for 56 species belonging to 44 genera and 23 families is presented. The water physico-chemistry data is also summarized with the corresponding visual data of limnological zones studied. The species diversity results are further compared with other local drainages and the correlation between area size and their relationship is expressed by y = 17.627e0.0601x.

Research on fish fauna of Tasek Bera began more than 60 years ago. A recent survey has collected a total of 52 species belonging to 20 families of freshwater fishes bringing the total number of fish species known to date to 127 species from 30 families. Thirteen species are newly recorded for the ecosystem, comprising of mainly small, cryptic and bottom dwelling species that can be found among riparian vegetation or root system of riparian plants. The remaining species are common and can be found widely distributed throughout Peninsular Malaysia. The ich- thyofaunas of Tasek Bera are dominated by Cyprinidae (51 species), Siluridae (12 species), followed by Bagridae (nine species) and Osphronemidae (nine species). The available data showed that fish diversity of Tasek Bera ecosystem is highly diverse. Future research needs to consider the peripheral habitat in order to obtain a complete picture of the ichthyofauna diversity of Tasek Bera Ramsar Site for sound conservation and management. Teugels and Laurent Pouyaud (2004) Description of a new clariid catfish, Clarias pseudonieuhofii from west Borneo (Siluriformes: Clariidae). Zoological Studies 43(1): 8-19. Clarias pseudonieuhofii sp. nov. is described from the Kapuas River in Western Borneo. Morphologically, the new species differs from all other Southeast Asian Clarias species (excepting C. nieuhofii) by an anguilliform body with a short and narrow head (head length 18.5%-21.1% standard length (SL); head width 12.7%-14.3% SL). Clarias pseudonieuhofii differs from C. nieuhofii by a shorter anal fin (anal fin length 56.0%-58.9% vs. 59.7%- 66.8% SL), a longer pelvic fin (pelvic fin length 6.4%-7.5% vs. 3.8%-6.3% SL), and a shorter occipital process (occipital process length 4.6%-6.8% vs. 7.6%-13.8% head length). An allozyme study revealed that the locus, PGM*, is diagnostic between C. nieuhofii and the new species. The lack of heterozygous genotypes of this allozymic locus in the localities of sympatry where both species were caught together indicates that they cannot interbreed; this thus constitutes indirect proof of their complete species status.

Mitotic chromosomes were prepared from kidney follow that of the standard protocol. The result showed that hybrid catfishes had chromosome diploid of 2n=61. An intermediate chromosomal pattern incorporating those of the parental species was found in the probable hybrid, confirming its interspecific origin.
