The European Broadcasting Union The EBU and INTERKULTUR hope (EBU) has launched a new TV tal- to continue the partnership with a ent competition format for amateur future edition of the European Choir choirs, Eurovision Choir of the Year, Games and World Choir Games, as an addition to the Eurovision creating a new annual format. The first edition of Eurovision Choir of the Year will be produced by host broadcaster Latvian Television (LTV) and Riga Tourism Development Bu- reau (LIVE RIGA) on 22 July at the Arēna Riga in the Latvian capital. Nine EBU member countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Esto- nia, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Slo- venia, and Wales) are sending choirs to represent their nation and to compete for the title, with prize for the winning choir. Latvia and Wales have even selected their choral rep- resentatives in a preliminary deci- sion on national television.
