In het kader van Natura 2000 zijn in Europees perspectief zeldzame soorten en vegetatietypen in Nederland beschermd. In dit rapport staan de (prioritaire) “Kalktufbronnen” (H7220) centraal. Dit bijzondere habitat type, dat in ons land uitsluitend in enkele Natura2000 gebieden in Zuid-Limburg voorkomt, ligt veelal ingebed in bronbossen (H91Eo-c). Omdat dit type hier zelden grote oppervlakten inneemt waren tot voor kort de kalktufbronnen voor veel mensen een onbekend fenomeen. -

Alzette - Volmerange - Ottange - 57.27 - S - D I - Cartographie du contexte Page 1 sur 11 Alzette - Volmerange - Ottange - 57.27 - S - D II - Description générale Synthèse du contexte Le contexte Alzette-Volmerange-Ottange est situé dans le Nord-Ouest du département. Ces trois cours d’eau principaux sont dans trois bassins différents et se jettent au Luxembourg. En dehors des espaces urbanisés et des espaces villageois, ce territoire est occupé principalement par des cultures et secondement par des forêts de feuillus et très peu de prairies. Les sols jouxtant ces cours d’eau sont principalement des sols urbanisés. En effet, ils sont au cœur d’une activité économique importante (frontière du Luxembourg) et on subit de nombreuses dégradations. Ainsi, la forte industrialisation et l’urbanisation en font un des contextes les plus dégradés de la Moselle. L’agriculture est une activité également dominante sur la tête du bassin versant. Les principales causes de dégradation de l’état du cours d'eau sont des travaux hydrauliques qui ont été réalisés en lien avec les activités agricoles (rectification, curage, recalibrage, canalisation du cours d’eau …). Un état de la qualité des eaux (données source : SIERM), indique que les paramètres écologiques ainsi que les paramètres chimiques ne sont pas de bonne qualité. Les caractéristiques morphologiques de ces cours d'eau montrent que le territoire est un contexte piscicole salmonicole mais actuellement au vu des qualités physico chimique, il est impossible pour la truite fario d’occuper ces milieux. L’état fonctionnel du contexte est dit "dégradé". Le peuplement piscicole en place n’est pas en conformité avec le peuplement de référence du niveau typologique théorique. -

Received: 15 December 2013 / Accepted: 18 December 2014 / Available online: 25 March 2015 Abstract In 2011 the partial skeleton of a goniopholidid crocodylomorph was recovered in the ENDESA coal mine Mina Corta Barrabasa (Escu- cha Formation, lower Albian), located in the municipality of Andorra (Teruel, Spain). This new goniopholidid material is represented by abundant postcranial and fragmentary cranial bones. The study of these remains coincides with a recent description in 2013 of at least two new species of goniopholidids in the palaeontological site of Mina Santa María in Ariño (Teruel), also in the Escucha Formation. These species are Anteophthalmosuchus escuchae, Hulkepholis plotos and an undetermined goniopholidid, AR-1-3422. In the present paper, we describe the postcranial and cranial bones of the goniopholidid from Mina Corta Barrabasa and compare it with the species from Mina Santa María. -

LUXEMBOURG RESISTANCE TO THE GERMAN OCCUPATION OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR, 1940-1945 by Maureen Hubbart A Thesis Submitted in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree MASTER OF ARTS Major Subject: History West Texas A&M University Canyon, TX December 2015 ABSTRACT The history of Luxembourg’s resistance against the German occupation of World War II has rarely been addressed in English-language scholarship. Perhaps because of the country’s small size, it is often overlooked in accounts of Western European History. However, Luxembourgers experienced the German occupation in a unique manner, in large part because the Germans considered Luxembourgers to be ethnically and culturally German. The Germans sought to completely Germanize and Nazify the Luxembourg population, giving Luxembourgers many opportunities to resist their oppressors. A study of French, German, and Luxembourgian sources about this topic reveals a people that resisted in active and passive, private and public ways. ii ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS I would like to thank Dr. Elizabeth Clark for her guidance in helping me write my thesis and for sharing my passion about the topic of underground resistance. A. K. Rozhdestvensky HISTORY OF THE DINOSAUR FAUNA OF ASIA AND OTHER CONTINENTS AND QUESTIONS CONCERNING PALEOGEOGRAPHY* The distribution and evolution of dinosaur faunas during the period of their existence, from the Late Triassic to the end of the Cretaceous, shows a close connection with the paleogeography of the Mesozoic. However these questions were hard to examine on a global scale until recently, because only the dinosaurs of North America were well known, where during the last century were found their richest deposits and where the best paleontologists were studying them — J. Leidy, E. Cope, O. Marsh, R. Lull, H. Osborn, C. Gilmore, B. Brown, and later many others. On the remaining continents, including Europe, where the study of dinosaurs started earlier than it did in America, the information was rather incomplete due to the fragmentary condition of the finds and rare, episodic studies. The Asian continent remained unexplored the longest, preventing any intercontinental comparisons. Systematic exploration and large excavations of dinosaur locations in Asia, which began in the last fifty years (Osborn, 1930; Efremov, 1954; Rozhdestvenskiy, 1957a, 1961, 1969, 1971; Rozhdestvenskiy & Chzhou, 1960; Kielan-Jaworowska & Dovchin, 1968; Kurochkin, Kalandadze, & Reshetov, 1970; Barsbold, Voronin, & Zhegallo, 1971) showed that this continent has abundant dinosaur remains, particularly in its central part (Fig. 1). Their study makes it possible to establish a faunal connection between Asia and other continents, correlate the stratigraphy of continental deposits of the Mesozoic, because dinosaurs are reliable leading forms, as well as to make corrections in the existing paleogeographic structure. The latter, in their turn, promote a better understanding of the possible paths of distribution of the individual groups of dinosaurs, the reasons for their appearance, their development, and disappearance. -

Milodowskib 4 a British Geological Survey, Maclean Building, Wallingford, OX10 8BB, UK, email: [email protected] 5 b British Geological Survey, Nicker Hill, Keyworth, Nottingham, NG12 5GG, UK 6 * Corresponding author 7 Abstract 8 The Lower Cretaceous Continental Intercalaire of North Africa is a terrestrial to shallow marine 9 continental wedge deposited along the southern shoreline of the Neotethys Ocean. Today it has a wide 10 distribution across the northern Sahara where it has enormous socio-economic importance as a major 11 freshwater aquifer. During the Early Cretaceous major north-south trending basement structures were 12 reactivated in response to renewed Atlantic rifting and in Algeria, faults along the El Biod-Hassi 13 Messaourd Ridge appear to have been particularly important in controlling thickness patterns of the 14 Lower Cretaceous Continental Intercalaire. Subsurface data from the Krechba gas field in Central Algeria 15 shows that the Lower Cretaceous stratigraphy is subdivided into two clear parts. The lower part (here 16 termed the In Salah Formation) is a 200 m thick succession of alluvial deposits with large meandering 17 channels, clearly shown in 3D seismic, and waterlogged flood basins indicated by lignites and gleyed, 18 pedogenic mudstones. The overlying Krechba Formation is a 500 m thick succession of quartz- 19 dominated sands and sandstones whose microstructure indicates an aeolian origin, confirming earlier 20 observations from outcrop. -

An easy-to-navigate pocket guide to the Meeting is also available to delegates. Venue The Annual Meeting will take place in the faculties of Philosophy and Philology on the Blasco Ibañez Campus of the University of Valencia. The Symposium will take place in the Salon Actos Manuel Sanchis Guarner in the Faculty of Philology. The main meeting will take place in this and a nearby lecture theatre (Salon Actos, Faculty of Philosophy). There is a Metro stop just a few metres from the campus that connects with the centre of the city in 5-10 minutes (Line 3-Facultats). Alternatively, the campus is a 20-25 minute walk from the ‘old town’. Registration Registration will be possible before and during the Symposium at the entrance to the Salon Actos in the Faculty of Philosophy. During the main meeting the registration desk will continue to be available in the Faculty of Philosophy. Oral Presentations All speakers (apart from the symposium speakers) have been allocated 15 minutes. It is therefore expected that you prepare to speak for no more than 12 minutes to allow time for questions and switching between presenters. We have a number of parallel sessions in nearby lecture theatres so timing will be especially important. -

The project aims to define key indicators of area-based transition to a low-carbon economy. The objective is to define measurable indicators at regional/local level that can inform over time of transition to low-carbon economic and industrial activities addressing the two aspects of the green growth economy: fostering job creation and economic development in new areas of growth and sustainable development. The central aim of the Benelux region is to be a region without borders, improving well being, mobility, safety and sustainable development. The Benelux Union is a cross-border partnership between Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg as well as Flanders, the Walloon government, the French community and the German community of Belgium and Brussels Capital Region. This project will examine some of the cross border regions of the Benelux and define indicators of an area-based transition to a low carbon economy in these regions, with focus on job-creation and economic development in specific cross border areas -
