WINTER 2020 Letter from the PRINCIPAL Dear Crusader Family, Catholic High School is celebrating 70 years of educating young men and women in Hampton Roads! Academic excellence and Catholic identity remain the cornerstone of the school. Our actions as a Catholic educational institution continue to be guided by the stated mission of the school-- nurturing intellect, shaping character, and forming Christian values. For seventy years, a Catholic High School education has provided opportunities for students to develop the knowledge, skills, and virtues for a life formed by Catholic values. Traditions and high expectations in a safe, nurturing community provide an environment where students grow and thrive. Caring and accomplished faculty guide students through the rigorous curriculum, encouraging healthy risk-taking and cultivating skills in communication, critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. Catholic High School students are often recognized locally and nationally for their high academic achievements and moral standards. God calls us to be the best versions of ourselves each and every day. In partnership with parents, we encourage each student to listen to His call. Student participation in service for the common good is an important part of a Catholic High School education and an essential step in a lifelong commitment to civic engagement. Through word and action, our faculty, staff, and students demonstrate in a multitude of ways that it is in giving that we receive. By providing Catholic High School students with an academically rigorous and doctrinally sound education, we ensure that they have the foundation to live a morally upright life in our complex, modern world. Kind regards, Mrs. Peggy Boon WINTER 2020 1 2019 Crusader HOMECOMING Thank you to our entire Crusader family for joining us at our 2019 Homecoming!
