Roberto Drury, Beato Catholic.Net Roberto Drury, Beato Catholic.net Presbítero y Mártir Martirologio Romano: En Londres, en Inglaterra, beato Roberto Drury, presbítero y mártir, que, acusado injustamente de participar en una conjura contra el rey Jacobo I, subió al patíbulo en Tyburn confesando a Cristo y revestido con el hábito eclesiástico para demostrar su dignidad sacerdotal († 1607). Fecha de beatificación: 22 de noviembre de 1987, junto a otros 84 mártires de Inglatera, Escocia y Gales, por el Papa Juan Pablo II. Breve Biografía Nace alrededor de1567 en Buckinghamshire, Inglaterra. Estudió en el Colegio Inglés de Rheims, Francia, en 1588, y luego en el Colegio Inglés de Valladolid, España, en 1590. Fue ordenado en Valladolid en 1593. Regresó a Inglaterra en 1593 como ministro de los católicos encubiertos en los alrededores de Londres, Inglaterra. Fue uno de los firmantes de la «Ley de lealtad» del 31 de enero de 1603 elaborada por el Dr. William Bishop, que reconocía a la reina como soberana legal sobre la tierra, pero les permitía mantener lealtad al Papa en asuntos religiosos.
