Returns To Hard Rock Casino Vancouver & River Rock Casino Resort COQUITLAM, BC (November 15, 2016) – The critically-acclaimed improv comedy show, Whose Live Anyway? makes its way back to the Molson Canadian Theatre at Hard Rock Casino Vancouver on Friday, Feb. 24 & Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 and to River Rock Casino Resort on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017. Originally called A Night of Improv, the show premiered in 1999 at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Following its initial success, the show’s star and Executive Producer, Ryan Stiles (The Drew Carey Show & Two and a Half Men) expanded the number of dates to include several major cities across North America. Whose Live Anyway? features Stiles along with fellow comics Greg Proops, Jeff Davis and Joel Murray. Together they perform many of the hilarious games made famous on their Emmy-nominated TV series, Whose Line Is It Anyway? which aired on ABC from 1998 to 2004 and returned to the airwaves in 2013 on The CW where it’s currently enjoying its fourth season. Upon graduating from Arundel High School in 1982, Sykes continued her education at Hampton University, a historically black institution in Hampton, Virginia, and earned a degree in marketing there in 1986. She immediately secured a job as a procurement officer for the National Security Agency (NSA) but quickly realized that her career did not lie in a government office. In 1987 she went on stage for the first time, doing a stand-up routine in a talent contest in Washington. Although she did not win, "a light went on" and she saw her destiny. That her second outing was a complete failure made her understand that pursuing a career in entertainment would be challenging, but, she stated, "It gave me a sense of how much I wanted to do it." While developing her skills at stand-up on nights and weekends, Sykes retained her job at the NSA until 1992, when she moved to New York to work on the comedy circuit there.

    ‘HEALING HANDS’ CAST BIOS EDDIE CIBRIAN (Buddy Hoyt) – A versatile actor who continues to expand his career in television and film, Eddie Cibrian is fast becoming one of the leading young actors in the business today. Born and raised in California, Cibrian began his acting career at the age of 12, landing a Coca-Cola commercial on his very first audition. Following the success of that spot, Cibrian appeared in numerous other national commercials. Upon entering high school, Cibrian decided to put his acting career on hold to pursue his other passion: Sports. He excelled in every sport he competed in – football, baseball, soccer and volleyball – and graduated high school with several All-State honors. Cibrian continued his successful athletic career when he entered UCLA’s football program in the fall of 1991. Unfortunately, an injury during his first year on the team left Cibrian sidelined, so he decided to return to acting. Cibrian immediately landed several national commercials and soon after, starred in Malcolm- Jamal Warner’s Emmy® Award winning television special “Kids Killing Kids.” The attention Cibrian garnered for his appearance on Warner’s special led to several soap opera auditions, including one for “The Young and the Restless.” The show’s producers were impressed with Cibrian’s acting abilities and created a character for him on the show, that of the conniving Matt Clark. Within three months, Cibrian had received so much fan mail that CBS signed him to a three-year contract. After appearing on “The Young and the Restless” for two years, Cibrian starred in several television shows including “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Baywatch Nights,” “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Sabrina The Teenage Witch” and “Saved by the Bell: The College Years.” It was not long before Aaron Spelling offered Cibrian the starring role of Cole Deschanel on the NBC daytime drama, “Sunset Beach.” Just five months after his debut, TV Guide named Cibrian one of Daytime’s 12 Hottest Stars.

    Canadian humour Canadian humour is an integral part of the Canadian Identity. There are several traditions in Canadian humour in both English and French. While these traditions are distinct and at times very different, there are common themes that relate to Canadians' shared history and geopolitical situation in North America and the world. Various trends can be noted in Canadian comedy. One thread is the portrayal of a "typical" Canadian family in an on-going radio or television series. Examples include La famille Plouffe, with its mix of drama, humour, politics and religion and sitcoms such as King of Kensington and La Petite Vie. Another major thread tends to be political and cultural satire: television shows such as CODCO, Royal Canadian Air Farce, La Fin du monde est à 7 heures and This Hour Has 22 Minutes, monologuists such as Yvon Deschamps and Rick Mercer and writers, including Michel Tremblay, Will Ferguson and Eric Nicol draw their inspiration from Canadian and Québécois society and politics. Another trend revels in absurdity, demonstrated by television series like The Kids in the Hall and The Frantics, and musician-comedians such as The Arrogant Worms, Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie and Bowser and Blue. Satire is arguably the primary characteristic of Canadian humour, evident in each of these threads, and uniting various genres and regional cultural differences. Humber College in Toronto and the École nationale de l'humour in Montreal offer post-secondary programmes in comedy writing and performance. Montreal is also home to the bilingual (English and French) Just For Laughs festival and to the Just for Laughs museum, a bilingual, international museum of comedy.
