Aulus Gellius, the Roman anquarian from the second century AD, wrote that his contemporaries used the term humanitas with the meaning of the Greek word philanthropia, benevolence towards others, even though the masters of Lan language had previously used the noun to mark a special type of educaon. Even then, the word could mean both an ethical posion and a parcular cultural and educaonal model. During subsequent periods, unl today, the adjecve humanist was associated with these two different areas. But Gellius, as well as his predecessor Cicero, saw both meanings as closely intertwined: he considered such educaon as necessary to culvate humanity (humanitas), which is both its foundaon and its goal. In the following centuries, it found its expression in the convicon about the fundamental value of each individual; complexity of modern civilisaon, diversity of its cultural forms and sensivity of arsc expressions, as well as human rights and democracy, are largely the result of this process. If the value of the individual grew from connuous search for integrity as a means of discovering one’s measure, what is the present state of such humanisc atude? And what are its consequences for educaon, for art, for understanding of human being, of the world, of life? It seems that recently the queson about the fate of humanism has become more difficult, and perhaps more important. How to reconcile the objecvist science with the cultural values, which are rooted in the unique importance of the human person and which, stricto sensu, cannot be claimed scienfically? How come that those anthropological, cultural and educaonal models, which are related to the humanism of anquity and of the renaissance, as well as to nineteenth- century neohumanism, so oen limit themselves to the 6 apologec and moralisc discourse when faced with the pragmast, technicist and economisc ideology? The purpose of the symposium is to bring together scholars from different fields of humanies, arts and literature, and to invesgate the present social and spiritual condion, when it somemes seems that the role of humanisc tradion is diminishing. The papers will shed light on these challenges, discussing the role of the arts and their relevance for the world and the human person, as well as their role in the future of an open and solidarity-based democrac society. 7 The Vilenica Internaonal Literary Fesval, a gathering of poets, prose writers, dramasts, essayists, and scholars, is organized by the Slovenian Writers’ Associaon in collaboraon with the Cultural Centre Vilenica. The climax of the event is the presentaon of the Vilenica Internaonal Literary Prize, awarded by the Slovenian Writers’ Associaon in accordance with its statute to a Central European author for outstanding achievements in the field of literature and essay wring. So far, Vilenica laureates were Yuri Andrukhovych (2017), Dubravka Ugrešić (2016), Jáchym Topol (2015), László Krasznahorkai (2014), Olga Tokarczuk (2013), David Albahari (2012), Mircea Cărtăarescu (2011), Dževad Karahasan (2010), Claudio Magris (2009), Andrzej Stasiuk (2008), Goran Stefanovski (2007), Miodrag Pavlović (2006), Ilma Rakusa in Karl-Markus Gauß (2005), Brigite Kronauer (2004), Mirko Kovač (2003), Ana Blandiana (2002), Jaan Kaplinski (2001), Slavko Mihalić (2000), Erica Pedre (1999), Péter Nádas (1998), Pavel Vilikovsky (1997), Adam Zagajewski (1996), Adolf Muschg (1995), Josip Os (1994), Libuše Moníková (1993), Milan Kundera (1992), Zbigniew Herbert (1991), Tomas Venclova (1990), Jan Skácel (1989), Peter Eszterházy (1988), Peter Handke (1987) and Fulvio Tomizza (1986). 8 Programme Venues: Slovenian Writers’ Associaon Hall, Tomšičeva ulica 12 | Slovenian Naonal Gallery (auditorium), Cankarjeva 20 | Šesca Restaurant, Slovenska cesta 40, Ljubljana | Vilenica Cave, near the village of Lokev | Muha Restaurant, Lokev 138 * * * Friday, September 8th 10.00–11.30 Registraon (Slovenian National Gallery, auditorium, Cankarjeva 20) 11.30 Opening address, with music performed by Insula memoriae, vocal ensemble for plainchant and renaissance music First session (chaired by David Movrin) 12.00–13.00 György E. • Srpska Knji@Evnost Na Kraju Veka, Iz Generacije U Generaciju

    – Digital presentation of Serbian literature and culture at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2020 Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia University Library Belgrade THE BRIDGES OF CULTURES – Digital presentation of Serbian literature and culture at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2020 Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia University Library Belgrade The peaks of the Serbian literary culture to which always to return 20th century Ivo Andrić (1892–1975) is the most popular Serbian writer who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1961. He wrote novels such as The Bridge on the Drina, Bosnian Chronicle, The Damned Yard and The Woman from Sarajevo and a great number of anthological tales published in several exceptional short stories collections. His posthumously published work entitled Signs by the Roadside, sometimes compared with Pesoa’s The Book of Disquiet, has been the most popular and the most published Andrić’s book in Serbia in the last thirty years. Andrić was a prominent diplomat in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and he was in many important posts in socialist Yugoslavia. Following the writer’s will, the Andrić Prize for the best short 3 story or a collection of short stories in Serbian was established and it is awarded annually. His works are thorough studies of history and the past written so as to teach us about a contemporary man and the discrepancies they carry inside. That is how he motivates imagination about the past and ties a contemporary reader, turned towards modernity, to a story and storytelling. Miloš Crnjanski (1893–1977) is one of the most renowned Serbian authors, an excellent publicist and a writer who changed the direction of literary history.

KURIKULUM ZA NASTAVNI PREDMET SRPSKI JEZIK ZA OSNOVNU I SREDNJU ŠKOLU S NASTAVOM NA JEZIKU I ĆIRILIČNOM PISMU SRPSKE NACIONALNE MANJINE U REPUBLICI HRVATSKOJ (MODEL A) UVOD Kurikulum predmeta Srpski jezik oblikovan je s idejom o djetetu i mladoj osobi kao o središnjem sudioniku odgojno-obrazovnog procesa.
