Overnight Novotel Warsaw Centrum hotel (or similar) June 6, Tuesday Thursday Warsaw (B, D) o Today’s visit includes the Nozyk Synagogue, Warsaw Ghetto Wall remnant on Zlota St, Umschlagplatz – the gathering place for transport to Treblinka, Mila 18 and the Ghetto fighters’ monument. Lunch break at Arcadia Shopping Mall o Travel to Treblinka o Dinner at the Beit Warszawa with community members, followed by a Chopin concert (TBA).Overnight Novotel Warsaw Centrum hotel June 7, Wednesday - Arrive Krakow (B, D) o Depart by first class train to Krakow. Lunch on your own in the Jewish Quarter – Kazimierez tour includes entry to: o Remu, Isaac, Alte (old) synagogues, Eagle Pharmacy, Krakow ghetto sites, Ghetto square, Ghetto wall and a visit at Schindler’s Factory o Dinner at the Olive Tree kosher restaurant. Overnight Holiday Inn City Center Krakow (or similar) June 8, Thursday - Krakow - Auschwitz/Birkenau - Krakow (B, L, D) o This morning we travel to Auschwitz/Birkenau complex, the former Nazi concentration camps was established by Nazis on the outskirts of the town Oswiecim in 1940. About 3 kilometers from Oswiecim, in the former village of Brzezinka, the Nazis established a new camp Auschwitz II Birkenau. Visit the historic synagogue (one of three surviving Boxed lunch en route, return to Krakow, Free time in the Old Town Square, Wawel Caste and more in the centre of Oświęcim), we will recite Kadish together. o Dinner at Kosher Delight ,Overnight Holiday Inn City Center Krakow June 9, Friday – Jewish Prague (B, D) o Transfer to the airport for an early flight to Prague o Visit Prague Castle, Old Royal Palace, St. Vitus Cathedral, Daliborka Tower, Lobkowitz Palace Museum Lunch on one’s own at Lobkowitz Palace Museum including lunchtime classical concert (1:00 pm daily). Walk down to the old town via Charles Bridge. o Check in the hotel , get ready for Shabbat, Shabbat services with Masorti Community o Dinner at Dinitz kosher restaurant ( We will invite Rabbi Hofberg for Dinner), Overnight Grand Bohimia Hotel Prague (or similar) June 10, Saturday- Shabbat in Prague (B, L) o Shabbat Services (optional) Lunch at Dinitz o Afternoon walking tour of the Charles Bridge and the town center with its magnificent Astronomical clock. o Evening Cruise Prague Jazz Boat: Cruise through Prague, take in the sights, and be entertained by a jazz band. Dinner is not included in this boat trip, but should you wish to dine there is a restaurant and on board. Cruise Duration: 2½ hours. Overnight Grand Bohimia hotel June 11, Sunday-Prague Josefov Town (B, D) o Walking tour of Prague Josefov’s Town- Prague Jewish town includes; Old town hall, Old-New Synagogue (Altneuschul), Maisel, Pinkas, Klausen and Spanish Synagogue, Lunch. o Old Jewish Cemetery, Guttmann Gallery and Ceremonial Hall. Jewish Museum, The rest of the afternoon at leisure. o Dinner at Maitrea Vegetarian. Overnight Grand Bohimia Hotel Prague June 12, Monday - Terezin and Lidice (B, L, D) Lunch boxes and snacks o Travel to Terezin the former Nazi “model” concentration camp, the Small Fortress, the Jewish museum and the recently discovered synagogue previously hidden in a potato shed. We will recite Kadish. Lidice (in German: Liditz). It is built on the site of a previous village of the same name which was part of the Nazi-created Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, o On our way to Berlin by coach bus , we will visit the Meissen Porcelain factory and enjoy a light meal at their Café o Check into the Hotel. Welcome Dinner at one of Berlin’s popular restaurants. Overnight Westin Grand Hotel Berlin June 13, Tuesday - Berlin (B, L) o Start with a visit to Weissensee Jewish Cemetery - giving us a sense of the size and importance of Berlin’s Jewish community before the Shoah. Topography of Terror, Documentation Center. Lunch at Café Schmus in the Jewish Museum including tour. The Museum was finished in 2001; this architecturally profound museum was designed by Polish-born Jewish-American architect Daniel Libeskind. o Next, a drive with an overview city tour and a stop at Check Point Charlie (photo opportunity) - the old Cold War border crossing point into Communist East Germany, Brandenburg gate and more Dinner on one’s own. Overnight Westin Grand Hotel Berlin June 14, Wednesday – Wannsee and Potsdam (B, L) o Gleis 17 or Track 17 - where Berlin Jews were deported to Riga, Auschwitz, Warsaw and Thereisinstadt, we will Recite Kadish. The Wannsee Conference Villa - where the "Final solution “conference was held. Lunch next to Wannsee House. o Potsdam - was the residence of the Prussian kings and German Kaisers until 1918. It is the site of the parks and palaces of Sanssouci, the largest World Heritage Site in Germany. The city is now the capital of the German federal state of Brandenburg and a home to three public colleges and a major film production studio. We will spend the evening on Bandenberger Strasse in Potsdam. Ramble about Potsdam’s baroque old city or the center of Babelsberg. Discover the city around Brandenburg Street with its shops and modern shopping malls in old inner courtyards. From here you can easily visit the Dutch Quarter with its galleries, upscale boutiques, restaurants and trendy pubs. o Dinner on your own. Return to Berlin. Overnight: Westin Grand Hotel Berlin. June 15, Thursday - (B, L, D) o Visit to the Reichstag housing the parliament called the Bundestag; it is topped with a strikingly contemporary glass dome where we will see fantastic views of central Berlin. Lunch on the roof top at Dachgarten Restaurant. o Holocaust Memorial's Field of Stelae. Walking tour of the Jewish sites of East Berlin, Otto Weidt’s Workshop for the Blind, Hackesche market, Jewish Boy’s school, The New Synagogue and Centrum Judaicum, one of the most important locations for contemporary Jewish life in Berlin. Visit the museums of Museum Island; see the Ishtar Gate of Babylon at the Pergamon and other art treasures. o Farwell dinner at Milo kosher Restaurant.
