About Grandpa
Been playing computer war games for over 30 years. Got hooked on computers in the early 1980’s, went on to get a degree in Information System Management while serving in the US Army as a helicopter pilot, including 2 tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the US Army, worked in Information technology management for over 25 years. I am retired and this is a hobby. Making mods for these games gives me something to do in my spare time and makes the games less boring. I do appreciate any donations as they help defray my beer costs at the local brewpub.

NOTICE - Please Read
Many custom skins are out of date due to a graphics format change by Wargaming. I have repaired a few and will continue as time permits. The old format was file type DDS, DXT5 compression and the new is DXT1 compression. You can correct them yourself, if you wish.
1. Download the skin package 2. Download and install Paint.net or Gimp 3. Open the each skin file and save it back as DXT1
Then it will work fine…

I am back to playing WoT more often, thanks to the coronavirus. But this gives me an opportunity to update some mods and get them working on current game versions. Updates for Grandpa’s World of Tanks Mods, Custom Skins, and Remodels (Not including KISS XVM)
Acknowledgement for Custom Remodels
Most of the remodels are not entirely mine, rather they are swaps of modules from other modders to form the specific combination or look. These come from parts and pieces of WG game models and remodels by much more accomplished modders, including: milkym4n, Avalon, foxerfit, Desyatnik_Pansy, TheFalkonett, Historical Remodelling Project, goodman12, professor, Wollolo, deh0mbre, Yamayan, and HiBan.
I compile them to get a working model without any script changes, working only with the model, and visual_processed files. Then do a custom skin repaint to add camo and some details to the model skin.
Remodels are a “client only” mod. Meaning it only changes visuals on your client, only you will see the mod in game. It does not change performance, in game tank will continue to look and perform as prescribed by the in game server attributes.

NOTICE: When updating from an older version, please DELETE all the old files first, then install new files. This is especially true in the World of Tanks/mods directory. You will get an error if there is a duplicate, or when you go into battle, you will not have an interface.

Keeping KISS Updated with WGMods
Use of WGMods allows you to use the installer to install and configure the mods you want to use, this allows users to update faster to the various updates. The two primary parts of KISS are XVM and PMOD.
For the core of KISS I am using WGMods Essentials this allows me to get updates to the “core” parts of KISS without searching for numerous mods all over the net. Images showing the choices I made from WGMods Essentials are included below. These mods include: XVM current version PMOD current version Gun constraints Safeshot Large ammo counter Fog and visibility mod I then add my KISS Configs files to the WGMods Essentials to get the KISS AIO. You can still download the KISS AIO as one download or you can add other WGMods Essentials to can create your own battle interface. KISS Configs includes: Grandpa’s KISS configuration for XVM Grandpa’s KISS configuration for PMOD In the Options folder are (these may or may not be up to date): KISS Crosshairs mod Grandpa’s Custom Icon Mod (puts icons in the res_mods folder. If WG adds new icons, the WG new will show as default) Zayaz’s Damage Panel Holy Shit 6th Sense sound Grandpa’s Logo and 6th Sense icon

Download the archive (.zip) Open the .zip file Inside you will find two directories (mods and res_mods).
