REGULAR PUBLIC MEETING November 11, 2015 MINUTES PUBLIC MEETING of the Board of Education, Village of Ridgefield Park, County of Bergen, was held at 7:30 p.m., at the Jr./Sr. High School, One Ozzie Nelson Drive, Ridgefield Park, New Jersey on the above date. The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance. ROLL CALL: Present: Board Members: Blue, Cuozzo, Kraljic, Lingle, Martinez, Miller, Thiemann and President DeSantis Absent: Board Members: Merritt Butler and Cardenas OPENING STATEMENT: The New Jersey Public Meetings Law was enacted to insure the right of the public to have advance notice of and to attend the meetings of public bodies at which any business affecting their interest is discussed or acted upon. In accordance with the provisions of this Act, the Ridgefield Park Board of Education has caused notice of this meeting to be published by having the date, time and place thereof posted in The Record and the Bergen News Publishing Company and posted in the Ridgefield Park Municipal Building and Board of Education Offices. MINUTES APPROVAL: Motion by Trustee Kraljic Seconded by Trustee Miller RESOLVE that the Board of Education approve the following minutes as submitted: Regular Public Meeting - October 14, 2015 Vote: Voice - Approved Absent: Trustees: Merritt Butler and Cardenas Abstention: Trustee: Blue CORRESPONDENCE: None. COMMITTEE REPORTS: None. SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: Mr. Neubert, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, began by presenting the NJASK and NJBCT test scores to the Board, mentioning that we will have a more detailed report in a couple of weeks when the PARCC scores are released. Mr. Koenig informed the Board of the progress of discussions with ISH Lumilights regarding replacing all our incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs. The Superintendent mentioned that Parent Night last Tuesday was very successful and well attended, giving the administration the opportunity to present the new report cards and new marking period structure to parents. Mr. Koenig stated that we received word from the Office of School Facilities that all plans are acceptable for Thomas Jefferson and that we have a year to discuss how we will address the ADA items that need to be resolved. The Superintendent updated the Board on the HIB report (see attached). Mr. Koenig discussed with the Board changing the date of the January Reorganization Meeting from Wednesday, January 13th to Wednesday, January 6th. The Board was okay with the change.
