General Muhammad Abdul Mubeen is a retired four-star General of the Army. He was a student of Adamjee Public School and Adamjee Cantonment College and graduated from the Bangladesh Military Academy in 1977. General Mubeen is a graduate of the Defence Services Command and Staff College, and has completed the Senior Command Course at the War College in India in 1990 and the National Defense Course at the National Defence College in in 2000.

General Mubeen has a distinguished record of ethical leadership and retired from the in 2012 after a distinguished military career of 36 years of honourable active service. General Mubeen was first posted as a commissioned officer in an Infantry battalion. He completed the NATO Weapon Conversion Course, Officers Weapons Course and Junior Tactics Course in School of Infantry and Tactics (1978), where he returned later to teach tactics (1980-1982). In 1983, he went to Military School in Guangzhou, China to undergo the Infantry Heavy Weapons Course.

General Mubeen has served in a variety of command positions and his senior-level leadership experience includes:
