You will then be directed to the elevator at Entrance A-B. Take the elevator to the 5th floor and ring the dedicated training room bell. Transfer from Frankfurt airport to Frankfurt city Flight arrangements should be made through Frankfurt Airport. Transferring from the airport to Frankfurt city (Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof/Central station) via public transport is the easiest and most cost-effective approach. You can use either the trains of the S-Bahn lines S8 and S9. The S-Bahn is operated by RMV and you will need to purchase a ticket from any of the green RMV ticket machines before boarding the train. The S-Bahn lines S8 and S9 to Frankurt Hauptbahnhof/Central station all depart from Platform 1. The airport's station for short distance rail travel is located on the ground floor level of the airport at Terminal 1. You want to follow the signs towards Airport City Mall/Regionalbahnhof. Getting around Frankfurt Frankfurt is well connected by public transport and we recommend this as the most convenient way of getting around the city. The Rhine-Main Transport Association (RMV) operates subways, trams, commuter trains and busses throughout Frankfurt and local surrounding areas. Please be aware that you will need to buy a ticket before boarding public transports. If you travel without a valid ticket you can receive an on-the-spot EUR 60 fine. Our Training center and local hotels are easily reached by public transport via tram (stop: "Speyerer Straße"; less than 1 min from Training center on foot) or S-Bahn (stop: "Frankfurt am Main Hauptbahnhof" or "Galluswarte"; approx. distance from Training center: 1000m or 400m respectively). Uber ridesharing is available in Frankfurt. If driving into the city, private parking is available at certain hotels. There is limited on-street day parking close to the Training center. Alternatively, day parking is available at the Skyline Plaza shopping center or at the Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt City. Again, we recommend making use of public transport wherever possible. Hotels We have an OSIsoft discounted corporate rate for the Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt City which is a short, less than 10 min walk to the Training Center. Hotel Motel One Frankfurt Messe Premier Inn Messe Hotel Hampton by Hilton Frankfurt City Local bars and restaurants DaVinc Cucina e Vino cozy and reasonably priced, family-owned Italian restaurant. https://www.davinc.de/ Block House well-regarded steak house close to the Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt City. https://www.block-house.de/block-house-restaurant-best-steaks-since-1968/ Im Herzen Africas exciting East African dining experience. Reservations usually required. https://im-herzen-afrikas.de/ We also recommend checking out the Sachsenhausen area of Frankfurt, south of the river Main. Sachsenhausen is home to boisterous apple-wine (Apfelwein, similar to cider and gets better with each glass!) pubs in its quaint, cobbled Altstadt, or old town, plus a mix of late-night bars, and German restaurants! Here are a few of our personal favourites Zum Gemalten Haus Apfelwein Wagner Klaane Sachsehäuser From the Training center/local hotels, Sachsenhausen is probably easiest reached via S-Bahn. Frankfurt Galluswarte station is only a 5 min walk from the Training center. From Galluswarte take either of the S3, S4, S5 or S6 lines in the direction of Frankfurt Süd. Ride all the way to the end of the line (Franfurt Süd, around 15 mins, 7 stops). Then walk around 5 min north up Schweizer Strasse. There is also an expansive food court located in the Skyline-Plaza shopping center with many casual international and chain dining options. Off the clock! If you find yourself with some free time whilst in Frankfurt, check out some of these local attractions: Visit the iconic Main Tower. Located in downtown Frankfurt, the Main Tower is a 56-storey, 200 m skyscraper (240 m if you include the antenna) with 2 public viewing platforms and a restaurant which afford panoramic, must-see views of the city! Marvel at the historic Römer. Dating back to the 15th century the Römer has served as Frankurt’s Rathaus (townhall) and features an impressive medieval façade located in the picturesque Römerberg square. Wonder around the Palmengarten. Step out of the city into a lush other-world. The Palmengarten is a botanical garden located in the city district Westend. It boasts a worldwide reputation for its ample collections of tropical plants. Visit the enchanting city of Heidelberg. Often affectionately named as one of the most romantic cities in Germany, it is well worth a day trip. Most first time visitors will make it a point to tour the Old Town below before venture up to Heidelberg Castle up on the hill. For more ideas see the Frankfurt Tourism website. .
