During the period April 3, 1652 and December 22, 1678, our colonial ancestors Anthony Jansen Westbroek and his wife Orrseltie Dircks appear in over 125 records. Many of the records have never been published. They do tell a human interest story. Such a paper is likely to remain in manuscript form for some time to come. The complete manuscript with lineage and documentation is entirely too comprehensive to present in this family record. Perhaps it may be made available sometime in the future with a suitable encouragement. -1- OBSERVATION We find our family divided by momentous i~sues: a. The Oath of Allegiance or t689.
