In Q2 2016 the market had an abundance of inventory — with a worldwide inventory value of roughly US$7.8 billion. Two years later, the inventory value has been reduced significantly, reaching a worldwide value of US$5.8 billion. Back then, buyers had ample supply at much lower prices. Today’s market has much less supply at higher prices, making it harder for buyers to find that ideal business jet. One of the driving forces leading the market from a Buyer’s Market toward a Seller’s Market is Gulfstream and its fleet of pre-owned aircraft. Gulfstream’s G200 saw 41 transactions in the past 12 months. The G550 had 39 transactions and the G650/650ER had 23 transactions RELY ON. in the past 12 months. A few other indicators are the low number of days on market (DOM) and the overall supply vs. demand ratio; both of which are lower than most aircraft on the market. Notably, Bombardier’s Challenger 600 series and Global series have also followed a similar trend. These models are all relatively ‘easy’ to sell, more attractive to buyers and they have a higher inventory available for sale. Because those aircraft are selling much quicker than most, pricing has increased for those still on the market. Overall, this has made for a less active market, with fewer transactions. Of course, as we saw in ASG’s quarterly Market Survey in the ‘Mood & Intentions’ section, economic confidence is down.     News Release IWG’S UNIQUE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM CERTIFIED FOR BOEING 737-700 BBJ AIRCRAFT INSTALLATION October 12, 2004 Burnaby, BC, Canada - International Water-Guard Industries Inc.(IWG) is pleased to announce that after a multi-million dollar development program the first installation of its patented Circulating Potable Water System (C-PWSTM )has been certified for Boeing Business Jet (737-700 BBJ) aircraft. “This certification is a particularly positive development for us,” said David Fox, IWG’s President and CEO. “The BBJ is a popular aircraft and we’re not only pleased to be able to offer our system to new and existing operators, but because the BBJ is a 737 derivative, the system is also attractive to operators beyond the corporate aircraft market. With this STC in hand, we can now move these initiatives forward. In addition, with the recent Environmental Protection Agency report in the US being critical of airline water quality, having water treatment units and water systems available and certified is especially important should the industry require them .” The BBJ is a variant of the Boeing 737, the world’s most popular airliner, and is used as corporate and head-of-state transport. The certification received from Transport Canada is a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), which allows the system to be installed on any Boeing BBJ aircraft. A BBJ with IWG’s system installed has been flying for several months. The system includes IWG’s water treatment units to destroy potentially harmful bacteria and viruses, and provide clean, fresh water to all points of use, is lightweight and saves apace.
