The state historic site preserves surviving portions of the industrial complex developed in the early 1880s by George M. Pullman to build luxury railroad passenger cars.

We are eager to welcome visitors to the site and showcase the multi-million- dollar investment made to transform the grounds. We hope it is an inviting landscape where the public can engage with the multi-faceted history of the Pullman site. Updated Illinois Sport Fish Consumption Advisory The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced an updated consumption advisory for sport fish caught in Illinois waters, including Lake Michigan. These changes are the result of continued sampling by the Fish Contaminant Monitoring Program (FCMP).

The IDNR Historic Sites Field Trip Grant program provides funding for field trips to select IDNR State Historic Sites. Up to $500 is available per winning application to reimburse the school for bus transportation costs. The grant program is competitive, and applications are due by September 30, 2021. Fund- ing is provided by donations through the Illinois Conser- vation Foundation.
