Inside you will find a Timetable and Faretable showing the cost of an Annual Pass. Should you have any queries please ask. On the back page you will find some general information relating to the Service. Enclosed is a separate Application Form. Please complete this and return it to us as soon as possible. PASSES WILL BE ISSUED ON THE FIRST DAY OF TERM, when students should give their name to the Driver and request their pass. Students MUST show their Pass every time they board the coach. Travel may be refused to anyone not showing a valid pass. (Our drivers will have a list of authorised passengers to refer to if a passenger has forgotten their pass.) “Standing Order” payment arrangements are available. The enclosed Bank Standing Order Form needs to be fully and accurately completed and MUST be returned to US for checking and processing. DO NOT SEND THIS FORM TO YOUR BANK (we will do that for you). In the event that any payment is not received, the Pass may be withdrawn from the student until such time as all outstanding amounts have been settled. In order to satisfy the Data Protection Act will you please note that personal data supplied in this application will be held on computer solely for administration and pass control purposes. The Pass incorporates a passport size photograph of the Holder. It is essential therefore that 2 photographs are provided with your application. The Student’s name should be clearly written on the back of both photographs with an ordinary pen (not a marker type as this tends to come off onto the other photograph). Page 1/08.16/Issue 2 GENERAL INFORMATION - TERMS & CONDITIONS 1. Passes are issued subject to the following conditions: a. It must be produced for inspection on each journey, or travel may be refused. b. It is not transferable and will be invalid if altered, mutilated or defaced. c. It does not entitle the Holder to any priorities over other passengers. d. A minimum of 60 DAYS notice is required if you no longer wish to use the service. Such notice must be served in writing. We reserve the right to charge for all service days during the 60 day notice period. e. A Pass is valuable and every effort should be made to ensure its safekeeping. Therefore if it is lost or stolen, report it to the company immediately by telephone. Then complete and return a declaration form, together with a fee of £10.00 and a new photograph. f. Damaged Passes will be replaced on production of the original Pass, a new photograph and the required fee of £10.00. g. Passes should be handed to the Driver on their expiry date. h. The Company reserves the right to give one months notice to cease the service in the event of the service being undersubscribed or by factors outside our control. i. The Company reserves the right to vary the timetable from that published. j. Unacceptable behaviour will result in travel being refused. k. Applications for refunds in respect of cancellation will only be considered when the actual pass has been returned to our offices and a receipt issued. Returning the pass for cancellation and subsequent refund does not negate the need to serve the 60 days notice referred to in item d. above. 2. Our modern fleet of coaches feature: CCTV cameras Vehicle tracking Tachograph recording Speed limiter restriction Fail-safe braking system Forced air ventilation/air-cond. Seat belt on every seat Two-way communication with base 4. Our Drivers are: Fully qualified PCV licence holders and CPC trained DBS Police checked Subject to annual driving standard assessment Able to obtain the Institute of Advanced Motoring Certificate. 5. Students travelling on our coaches are expected to: Occupy their seat correctly, using the belt provided. Board and alight with consideration for others. Dispose of litter in the bin provided or take it with them. Have their pass with them to show EVERY time they board. Page 2/08.16/Issue 2 FARETABLE 2016/2017 Academic Year COACH SERVICES THE ABBEY SCHOOL ROUTES 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, & 10 The cost for an ANNUAL PASS to cover all days The Abbey School is open for pupil attendance, between September 2016 and July 2017, is £1270 (for payment in advance by cheque or BACS) or £1328 if paying by Standing Order. PAYMENT METHODS: 1. Full payment by cheque (or BACS) in the sum of £1270 (made payable to Horseman Coaches Ltd.). Cheques will not be banked prior to 25th August 2016. 2. By Standing Order (8 payments of £166.00) - complete the enclosed Standing Order Mandate form and return this to our office (DO NOT SEND THIS FORM TO YOUR BANK - WE WILL DO IT FOR YOU). BEFORE SENDING US YOUR APPLICATION PLEASE CHECK THAT YOU ARE ENCLOSING THE FOLLOWING: 1. Completed and signed Application Form 2. Completed Standing Order Mandate Form (if paying by instalments) OR Cheque in respect of full payment for £1270 3. 2 passport size photographs (with the student’s name written on the back of both) PLEASE APPLY BY 20th AUGUST!! As any route which does not reach the required minimum number of subscribers by this date will be CANCELLED. Seats are allocated on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis, so if you require a seat - book it as soon as possible. You should note that even if your daughter travelled last year - you still need to apply for a seat as it is NOT reserved automatically. WE DON’T SEND BUS PASSES IN THE POST - THEY ARE ISSUED ON THE BUS ON THE FIRST DAY OF TERM. The main surface of the shield indicates the former, while the latter are represented in the top portion or "chief". Three white waves and two green ones, each resembling an initial W, suggest the undulating farmlands and rich woodlands enclosed by the Thames, Loddon and Blackwater rivers. The royal stag's head, similar to that in the arms of Windsor and that of the complete stag in the arms of Berkshire and Wokingham, refers to the situation of large parts of the Borough in the ancient Royal Forest of Windsor. In the chief, the pastoral staves refer to the Sees of Winchester and Salisbury, the former held the whole of the Hundred of Wargrave and the Bishop of Salisbury had a Palace at Sonning. The mitre refers to the mitred Abbey of Abingdon which has links with the Borough over a thousand years old, and to the ancient Saxon bishopric said to have existed at Sonning. The background is red, as is the upper part of the arms of Reading University, whose site is within the area at Earley. Above the shield is the closed helm proper to civic arms, with its decorative mantling or tournament cloak in the basic colour of the shield, green and white. Upon the helm stands the crest, the base of which is the special type designed for Rural Borough Councils and consisting of wheatears and acorns alternately, representing agriculture and natural beauty.

    PART 2 THE CHARACTER OF THE WOKINGHAM LANDSCAPE 5 LANDSCAPE TYPE A: RIVER VALLEYS Landscape Character Areas A1: Thames River Valley A2: Loddon River Valley A3: Blackwater River Valley Characteristics of Landscape Type 5.1 There are three character areas classified as being of the River Valley landscape type. These correspond to the valleys of the Rivers Thames and Blackwater which respectively, define the north and south boundary of the district and the Loddon which bisects the district, in a south-north direction. This landscape type is distinguished by a flat lowland alluvial/river terrace floodplain supporting a mixture of arable and pastoral farmland generally set within a partially wooded context creating a semi-enclosed landscape. Key Characteristics • Flat to gently shelving. • Predominantly alluvial floodplain with some areas of river terrace. • Important wetland and marginal habitats. Wokingham District Landscape Character Assessment 52 • Pastoral fields and meadows with large arable fields further away from river. • Semi-enclosed landscape with open fields framed within a wooded backdrop. Relationship to Berkshire Landscape Character Assessment 5.2 The River Valley landscape type corresponds to Type B: Lower River Floodplain of the Berkshire Landscape Character Assessment. The particular character areas are B4: Hurley Thames, B6: Lower Loddon and B7: Blackwater. Generally, there is good parity between the boundaries of the landscape types. The main distinction is that two small areas within the valleys of the Thames and Blackwater have been separated into the River Valley with Open Water landscape type. Additionally, there have been some minor boundary changes due to the more detailed scale of this assessment including some areas where River Terraces have been distinguished from the main valley landscape.

The entrance to the site is actual ly on Scarletts Lane not Milley Lane and therefore we could be grateful if you could confirm the site address. Our understanding is that the current official classification of the land is agricultural, we would be grateful for clarification of this. As residents we agree horses have been on this site for the last 10 years, although over the last 3 years only one horse has been in evidence. Dog training, it?s our understating the owner has used the field to exercise her own dogs not as a dog training bu siness. Within the last 2 years there has been some additional fencing put up that looks like dog training facilities, however we do not believe that the training of dogs has been consistentregular over the last 10 years. Could you confirm if Wokingham Borough Council requires dog training facilities to be registered and monitored? Over the last 2 years the following has happened on the site? ( google maps can confirm our points below) ?2 garden summerhouses installed on the site ?New Stables mo ved to a central point on the plot ?Building to the left of main entrance has been completely refurbished inc; new patio doors, blockwork, Windows, roof etc ?New entrance created, we understand originally there was only one entrance ?Motorhome regu larly parked on site ?New driveway created with MOT type material.

The royal stag's head, similar to that in the arms of Windsor and that of the complete stag in the arms of Berkshire and Wokingham, refers to the situation of large parts of the Borough in the ancient Royal Forest of Windsor. In the chief, the pastoral staves refer to the Sees of Winchester and Salisbury, the former held the whole of the Hundred of Wargrave and the Bishop of Salisbury had a Palace at Sonning. The mitre refers to the mitred Abbey of Abingdon which has links with the Borough over a thousand years old, and to the ancient Saxon bishopric said to have existed at Sonning. The background is red, as is the upper part of the arms of Reading University, whose site is within the area at Earley. Above the shield is the closed helm proper to civic arms, with its decorative mantling or tournament cloak in the basic colour of the shield, green and white. Upon the helm stands the crest, the base of which is the special type designed for Rural Borough Councils and consisting of wheatears and acorns alternately, representing agriculture and natural beauty.
