Aircraft regularly cleaned and treated with ACF-50, LPS3, and paralketone, LPS3 applied as protection. LPS1,LPS2, LPS3 per LPS lubrication and corrosion control manual. Aircraft was regularly hangered since acquisition in 1999, with exception of one winter on open ramp at SXQ, during that time engine covered, snow removal and security checks daily. Aircraft, engine, propeller times since overhaul and total times reviewed and calculated. Since engine overhaul @ 4564(per original tach) a replacement tach with previous accumulated hours was installed. Subsequently the mechanical tach hour meter ceased operation and a digital tach was installed. Digital tach set to reference 2500rpm for flight time calculation, this is same calibration as OEM mechanical tach. The actual engine operation time is digital tach reading plus 22.2 hours due to flight time during mechanical tach recording malfunction. The recorded times are consistent and per regulatory guidance for TBO and maintenance scheduling regarding wheels up time and will normally be less than clock time. Actual clock time would be used for logging pilot flight hours. Here's how it will work... As each CMV form is received we will capture the medical expiry date off that form into our database. The month before your medical is due to expire we will email a reminder. Do not send in your new medical- keep that with your logbook for inspection on demand. We will capture the new expiry date when we receive a CMV form at your next BFR. You will see a summary of all due dates on most communications from RAANZ (email or letter). Note that this is a service to members- we will remind you, but we are not policing it. It is your responsibility to remain current (medical, membership, BFR, annual inspection)- 'I didn't receive a reminder' is a poor excuse. It will take up to 2 years for the system to capture all members medical dates- if you want to hook into the system now, you can email RAANZ with your current medical expiry date. Part 149 re-entry audit Every 5 years each Part 149 organisation has to go through a re-entry audit. It is a fairly thorough check by CA that the organisation meets all requirements of Part 149, and has the systems, people and credibility to do the job. RAANZ has just completed that audit with no adverse findings. So it is on with the job, with a view to keeping our systems as simple and lean as possible, while looking for ways to help our pilots, Instructors and IAs sharpen their skills and keep microlights and recreational flying safe, affordable and accessible.

Table #1 below outlines the specific regulations identified in AC23-17C, Appendix 2, “A Compliance Checklist to CAR part 3, as amended Nov. 1, 1949. Both the Cessna 185 and 180 were certified under CAR Part 3 as per TCDS’s, 5A6 and 3A24. The wheels already meet the regulatory requirements by having STC approval under ABI STC SA01765SE for the Cessna 185 and 180 incorporating the installation of 8.50x10 and 29x10 tires. The 29” ABI Bushwheel is STC approved for the Cessna 180 and 185 but does not have TSO approval and its speed rating is reduced to 70mph. Instructions for continued airworthiness will follow the requirements of STC SA01765SE for the ABI wheel assemblies and AC43.13-1b, Chapter 9, sections 9-13 thru 9-19 for the 31” Desser Tires.
