The BNP organises on our streets — and we must challenge them there. ANTI-NAZI PROTEST IN STOP CODNOR, DERBYSHIRE Saturday 15 August, 9am The fascist BNP wants to hold its annual Red, White & Blue “festival” of race hatred and bigotry in the village of Codnor in Derbyshire. The BNP will invite neo-Nazis from THE across Europe to the event. It will use the rally to further its fascist agenda and whip up racism on our streets. Unite Against Fascism is calling on everyone who opposes the BNP to come to Codnor on Saturday BNP’S 15 August to protest. We want to “kettle” the BNP by surrounding their rally with anti-Nazi demonstrators. The vast majority of people are repelled by the BNP’s poisonous politics. Let’s stand up to the BNP and tell FASCIST them that they are not wanted. UAF is organising coaches to Codnor from around the country. ABSTRACT What is presented here is an eminently personal narrative, of empirical character, about some field entries taken place in Manchester, Northern England, between February and May of 2015, in a broader investigation about local music scenes. We aimed at highlighting events and laterally-placed cases in relation to the mainstream of the hegemonic phonographic industry. It is therefore a discussion about independent rock, about social occurrences and acts of structuring happening underway in the underground circuit. The materials presented are ones which allow us to speculate also about the relations between urban imaginaries and produced (or fixed) memories by pop music.
