Blargh!By BrandonIt wasn't until a couple months back that I discovered and fell in love with the InuYasha series. Its got awesome artwork, a compelling storyline, and its even got some fighting here and there. (Something I assume most manga readers enjoy. :D)I bought this book new from our friend here, now the book was clearly new BUt in the top middle of the outer spine of the book, horrors beyond belief, there was a very profound tear (on the spine mind you). Now to most people, it would be considered a "small" tear, and as the book was still readable, the tear would probably be ignored. However, i'm not most people. :IWhen someone buys something new, they expect it to be in great condition, it is new after all. And to sell someone a product with obvious damage to it is a little inconsiderate, some might even say evil, (XD) to the customer.I seriously think they specifically ship me their "bad" new products, "Oh look, HES ordering this, lets send him this damaged one. dB"Its not funny , if you weren't so amazing i'd of found some other site by now. XDLike I said, it was a small tear, but a tear nonetheless, in a new book at that. D: Be careful of what you buy dear customer...it was a fantastic book though, it was really glossy too. owo0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Old but gold.By KeyairaI've been an avid InuYasha fan since I was 6. I know that's young but I was so enthralled by it (still am). I watched the anime first on Adult Swim but later in my teen years I started reading the manga. I said it's predictable because I've seen the entire anime 7 times so nothing was too shocking (some minor discrepancies between the manga and the anime were surprising). I'm just collecting the manga now. I love it. All of Rumiko Takahashi's works are phenomenal.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Loving these books!By CustomerThe book was amazing, I love these three in one novels! It's amazing bang for your buck! I will be purchasing more of them in the future. The full color pages in the back were a welcome surprise:) Great story overall. If your looking into purchasing this for someone, I must warn you, there is nudity in the series.. ' ( as we all saw from the first three in one of this series...) Rumiko Takahashis manga epic in its original format - 3 volumes collected in 1!R to L (Japanese Style). Rumiko Takahashis manga epic in its original format - 3 volumes collected in 1! New Allies, New EnemiesIn both the past and the present, Kagome and Inuyasha face new enemies while on their search for the shards of the Shikon Jewel. This installment of “Japanese Culture Now” features Entertainment Media manga, Japanese comics. Characteristics of Japanese Comics Chronology of Postwar 1) The mainstream is story manga Japanese Manga The mainstream of manga in Japan today is “story manga” that have clear narrative storylines and pictures dividing the pages into 1940s ❖ Manga for rent at kashihon’ya (small-scale book-lending shops) frames containing dialogue, onomatopoeia “sound” effects, and win popularity ❖ Publication of Shin Takarajima [New Treasure Island] by other text. • Characterising the Anthropocene: Ecological Degradation in Italian Twenty-First Century Literary Writing
Characterising the Anthropocene: Ecological Degradation in Italian Twenty-First Century Literary Writing by Alessandro Macilenti A thesis submitted to the Victoria University of Wellington in fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Italian Literature. Victoria University of Wellington 2015 Abstract The twenty-first century has witnessed the exacerbation of ecological issues that began to manifest themselves in the mid-twentieth century. It has become increasingly clear that the current environmental crisis poses an unprecedented existential threat to civilization as well as to Homo sapiens itself. Whereas the physical and social sciences have been defining the now inevitable transition to a different (and more inhospitable) Earth, the humanities have yet to assert their role as a transformative force within the context of global environmental change. Turning abstract issues into narrative form, literary writing can increase awareness of environmental issues as well as have a deep emotive influence on its readership. To showcase this type of writing as well as the methodological frameworks that best highlights the social and ethical relevance of such texts alongside their literary value, I have selected the following twenty-first century Italian literary works: Roberto Saviano’s Gomorra, Kai Zen’s Delta blues, Wu Ming’s Previsioni del tempo, Simona Vinci’s Rovina, Giancarlo di Cataldo’s Fuoco!, Laura Pugno’s Sirene, and Alessandra Montrucchio’s E poi la sete, all published between 2006 and 2011. The main goal of this study is to demonstrate how these works offer an invaluable opportunity to communicate meaningfully and accessibly the discomforting truths of global environmental change, including ecomafia, waste trafficking, illegal building, arson, ozone depletion, global warming and the dysfunctional relationship between humanity and the biosphere.

  • Chapter One Introduction
CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1.1.Background of Study Japan has so many traditions of folklore that had inherited for generation whether in story form or in tradition form. With some creativity and existing technology that they had, some Japanese filmmaker has succeeded by making some Japanese folklore into more interesting form and well known by people whether inside Japan or outside Japan. According to Kitayama “Folklore is a stories shared by folk people from the past and these stories are similar to myths, except that they are related more to human matters than to supernatural beings” (Kitayama 2005: 85) By this quotation the writer argue that folklore is cultural product which is produced by people in the past and it is contained of myth and usually, the society will connect the folklore to supernatural even more to human matters. As emphasized by Lindahl, Although many people regard a “folktale” as a fictional form, I use the term here to apply to any traditional tale, whether its tellers consider it true, or false, or both. Thus, the scope of the tale extends far beyond fiction to encompass belief tales, personal experience stories, and accounts of major historical events (Lindahl, 2004: 200). Based on the quotation above, the writer argues that folklore acknowledges the practice of labeling narratives based on the element of belief, he also realizes the inherent story within each and the tendency of storytellers to use a little fiction and a little nonfiction in crafting their stories. Lindahl uses this terminology to put the focus on the storytellers themselves and help the reader to recognize the relationship between tale and teller.

  • The Dissemination of Japanese Manga in China
Lund University Center for East and South-East Asian Studies Masters Programme in Asian studies East and Southeast Asian track Spring semester, 2005 The Dissemination of Japanese Manga in China: The interplay of culture and social transformation in post reform period Author: Yang Wang Supervisor: Anna Jerneck Acknowledgements I want to thank my teachers in Lund University, who gave me the opportunity to do research for my thesis. I want to thank teachers in Waseda University for the summer course. I also want to thank my family who has always been supportive. And finally, I want to thank all the friends I have met with in Sweden, Japan and China. 2 Abstract The thesis is a combination of both research fieldwork in sociology and documentary study on the historical development of Japanese animation (and manga) within China in the past two decades. The author tries to reveal some of the social changes taken place in Chinese society through a prevailing foreign culture that once did not even exist. The thesis examines the background, the initiation and developing course of Japanese animation (and manga) while trying to find out how it was distributed and received in the country. By looking into the history of Japanese animation (and manga) in China, several points can be made to the subject. 1) The timing of Japanese animation (and manga) entering China is to the moment of political and social significance. The distribution and consuming of a once considered children program has reflected almost every corner of the social transformation. 2) It has educated the young generation with a blurred idea of modernity at the first place while partly changed their worldview that driving them further away from the lost tradition.

Needs mor e but i'll post it now anyways Provided by Fanart Central. http://www.fanart-central.net/stories/user/MilnhsDoggieboy/3668/An-icy-snow-and-warm-Heart Chapter 1 - An Icy snow, and a warm heart 2 1 - An Icy snow, and a warm heart An Icy snow, and a warm heart The snow is coming down hard now and if you went outside you wouldn't be able to see your hand in front of your face. The sound that the snow is making as it hits the roof of the cabin. Is like thunder roaring through the skies. It even shakes the ground and cabin. Miroku, Shippo, Kirara, and Sango went on ahead of Inu-Yasha and the injured Kagome that had to stay behind in a cabin until the storm dies down. They didn’t have any firewood and Inuyasha was to proud to admit he was cold Kagome was freezing and couldn’t help but shiver. Inuyasah:Damnit she’s freezing and theres no blanket in this stupid cabin. I need to find a way to keep her warm. Kagome falls asleep from the cold, her lips turn blue from the cold and Inuyasha wasn’t excatly the warmest person either. He had to do something but couldn’t figure out what. Inuyasha: I know my kimono and shirt, (Inuyasah quickly removes his shirt and kimono and wraps Kagome up in them, he picks her up and holds her sheilding her from the cold) Please don’t die Kagome, I can’t lose you, not when I have you so close to me.
