This Calendar is printed some months before the year for which it is intended to provide guidance. Programmes and Classes: The University reserves the right to limit enrolment in any programme. Students should be aware that enrolment in many programmes is limited and that students who are admitted to programmes at Dalhousie/King’s are normally required to pay deposits on university fees to confirm their acceptance of offers of admission. These deposits may be either non-refundable or refundable in part, depending on the programme in question. While the University will make every reasonable effort to offer classes as required within programmes, prospective students should note that admission to a degree or other programme does not guarantee admission to any given class. Students should select optional classes early in order to ensure that classes are taken at the most appropriate time within their schedule. In some fields of study, admission to upper level classes may require more than minimal standing in prerequisite classes.     ANGLICAN JOURNAL Inspiring the faithful since 1875 vol. 139 no. 7 september 2013 Remember the Sabbath September seems to be all about gearing up for back to school, back to work, back to the rat race after the fleeting reprieve of summer holidays (if you had any). The promise that computers and labour-saving technology would mean more leisure time for everyone now seems laughable in the face of statistics that clearly show most people are working harder and longer than ever. In the midst of that busyness, and the stress that comes with it, the Journal poses the question, have we forgotten Sabbath? “Remember the Sabbath day, and keep it holy. For six days you shall labour and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work” is the fourth commandment (Ex. 20:8–10a), but what does it mean in a society that can shop, work and chatter online 24/7? Following the third ballot, at 2:20 pm, Archbishop John Privett, Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia and Yukon, announced that the Rev. Canon Melissa M. Skelton was elected the 9th Bishop of the Diocese of New Westminster, succeeding Bishop Michael Ingham who retired August 31st, 2013, after 20 years of servant leadership. Prior to the announce- ment, and after determining that Canon Skelton had received the majority of votes from both clergy and lay, the Archbishop contacted the four members of the Provincial House of Bishops and received their concurrence. One alternative parish model is a team ministry model. Team ministries are characterized by more than one person in the position of leadership carrying out ministry in overlapping roles in the same parish environment, functioning in a non-hierarchical manner. The goal of the research was to learn how team ministries may be better formed and maintained in the future. This thesis opens by identifying sources which can provide insight about how team ministries may be better formed and maintained. It looks at writings from the early Church (particularly parts of the New Testament), and practices of "team ministry" in other Anglican provinces. It also draws from the field of Occupational Psychology. The bulk of the research for this thesis was a grounded theory qualitative research study, undertaken among participants in team ministries in two Anglican dioceses. The research was distilled into five broad categories: Dispositions, Theological Perspectives and Traits; Ordination and Team Formation; Parishes; Social and Spiritual Disciplines; and Support Beyond the Parish.
