Background Note: John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917-1963), the 34th president of the (elected in 1961), was assassinated while still in office, on November 22, 1963 in , Texas. Although was arrested for the assassination, he never went to trial because he was murdered by on November 24, 1963. Lingering doubts about his solo role in the assassination have led to 35 years worth of investigation by hundreds of individuals and the formation of numerous theories on who was responsible for the assassination of President Kennedy.

Scope and Contents: This collection was assembled by researchers in the course of their investigation into the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Lillian Castellano, a special investigator of the assassination of both John F. and Robert Kennedy, and a member of "The Kennedy Assassination Truth Committee," contributed the bulk of this collection. The collection contains analyses of the , photographs, negatives, and slides, a copy of the autopsy review report, and diagrams. Also included are copies of documents on Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby, exhibit lists, slides of the assassination, tape transcriptions of interviews, and copies of transcripts from the Senate and House Select Committees. A large portion of this assembled collection is published material, some of which may now be difficult to locate. These include special whole issues of periodicals on the assassination, clippings, newsletters, pamphlets, photocopies of articles, and collector's copies.

The collection is divided into 2 series: "Collected research materials" and "published materials."

Acquisition: Donated to the Archives and Special Collections around 1988. Some clippings from Mel Yoken, 6/06.

Access: unrestricted, except published materials may be accessed in person only.

Copyright: on published material, is retained by the original publisher. Photocopying of published material allowed on site, in person, by the researcher only, under the guidelines of fair use; on original copies of publications, not on photocopies. Mail or phone inquiries for copies will not be accepted. Researchers should consult their own libraries for interlibrary loan.
