2K Sports and Nexon Announce Partnership to Develop and Publish Online Baseball Simulation May 16, 2011 Expands 2K Sports' strategy of bringing authentic online sports titles to Asia NEW YORK, May 16, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- 2K Sports announced today an agreement with Nexon Corporation to develop and publish a new online baseball simulation for the South Korean market. The partnership builds upon 2K Sports' strategy to leverage its proven intellectual property and expertise, by using Nexon's deep gaming roots in Korea to enhance its online game offerings for Asia. "Nexon is a pioneer in the online gaming space and its track record of creating quality online titles makes them an ideal partner," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. "We view this as a great opportunity to deliver an outstanding simulation game to a population that enjoys online gaming and has a passion for baseball. We look forward to reaching new audiences with our authentic simulation titles." The new online simulation will expand the breadth of sports titles created by 2K Sports' Visual Concepts studio, makers of the acclaimed NBA 2K and MLB 2K franchises, who will be working very closely with Nexon, creators of popular online games, including their worldwide hits MapleStory and KartRider. "As Korea's number one spectator sport with nearly six million fans in 2010*, baseball has a massive untapped audience to whom we believe our game will appeal," added Hubert Larenaudie, president of Take-Two Asia. "I'm very pleased about the partnership with Nexon, a company that has remarkable experience in developing and publishing popular online game titles. With the combined expertise of Nexon and Visual Concepts, our goal is to create the best online baseball game in Asia." "This partnership is an opportunity to demonstrate the scope of our development capabilities by creating a new type of online game," said Min Suh, CEO of Nexon Corporation. "We're confident that Visual Concepts' proven success in developing sports simulations coupled with our online gaming expertise will result in a new kind of baseball experience for Korean online gamers." 2K Sports is a division of 2K, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.
