To: WV Public Service Commission Officials:

Now is the time for the WV Public Service Commission to step up to the plate and show Leadership in forcing a showdown with West Virginia American Water Company concerning decisions about bringing water lines and providing water to areas of need. Some of these areas have already been singled out and funding is in place. Others are waiting to see if West Virginia American Water Company wants to form a partnership.

Manila Ridge (Putnam County) and Locust Ridge (Mason County)) have been seeking public water for over ten years. Some of Manila Ridge and other area residents have received public water while other parts are caught in a stalemate pattern.

If West Virginia American Water Company desires to put on hold these projects and kick the can down the road for some reasons then West Virginia Public Service Commission should quickly and effectively stir the pot through legal avenues so the public can be served. If necessary these issues should be politicized and the movers and shakers from the political arena need to get involved . People without public water have suffered enough. Infrastructure should be a priority in developing our State.

A reply would be appreciated from responsible people mentioned above.

LIFE ON THE RIDGE

Its Spring time on the Ridges and things are sprucing up One thing is missing, No public water to fill my cup

Must haul water at least three times a week to fill my holding tank The kids need clean clothes and a few baths so they won’t be rank

Buying drinking water is another expense Public water would solve all this nonsense

Folks are plowing up their garden ground Fresh veggies and fruits will soon be around

Thoughts turn to how much the hay crop will yield And getting the farm equipment ready for the fields

Young calves are staying close to their mothers for food and protection Packs of coyotes are also teaching their young a lesson

Everyday is challenging in so many ways Getting public water would make my day.
