Both the District Council and County Council are freezing their rates again, which means that you will be paying exactly the same towards the local delivery of their services as you did last year and also in the year before. Lincolnshire Police Authority has, however, opted to increase its rate by almost 4% which adds a further £7.11 to a Band D bill. In addition to the charges detailed above, in most areas extra charges are imposed for parish and town council expenses. In many cases these have been frozen too, although some have increased and others have decreased. So, depending on where you live you will be paying fractionally more or less than you did last year for the services provided by your local parish or town council. The district and county councils’ freezes have been made possible by the Government making an extra sum available to each one which is equivalent to a 2.5% increase in their Council Tax levy. You will see that most of North Kesteven’s households fall within the bands A, B and C, but Council Tax is always quoted at Band D for comparative purposes.
